Hmmm, with a Euro equaling about a $1.17US, I think ol' RodKnock would airlift his car out to me if I put $300k on the table.

Yes, automatically. We've had this debate over and over again. And I'm personally not interested in debating it again.

Any Cobra built and sold after 1967-1968 is a replica. Shelby has been building replicas since the 1990's. As Evan used to say, check your SAAC Registry.

WTF is a "toolroom copy" anyway?

$300,000 Euro for a replica? You can buy one in the US for $200,000 or less. Allegedly, Evan sold his CSX4206, which was claimed to be one of the best Cobra replicas for $228,000-ish (?) IIRC, BUT someone here on CC with knowledge of the transaction said it sold for much less.

There are no perfect replicas. The materials used in the Year 2018 didn't exist in the Year 1962-1968.

Yes, as I said, if you bought a long time ago, like me, and sold today, you might make some money. But glass CSX rollers, last time I heard, were $115,000. If your building one today, with engine, trans and all the other details, what could you sell it for after finishing the build and driving it around a little? CSX4753 sold for $99,000 or less.

Yes, he sold his car though I like to think I didn't have anything to do with his decision to sell. The car needed lots of sorting out once the buyer took possession of it.

I'd like to think that once he was banned from ClubCobra, he was so angry and distraught, that he decided to sell his Cobra.

And I'm more than little surprised that his Cobra needed sorting, since over the years, he would tell us here on CC that his car was having a "spa day" at HRE, Billy Andrews' shop.

I'd like to know more about the need for sorting as well. Evan always portrayed his car as approaching "perfect," so I'd be open to any specifics.

I know the brakes were virtually non existent and didn’t function properly. Also the drivers seat needed to be reupholstered as it was built up with so much padding, the owner couldn’t drive the car. I’m guessing Evan must be about 3’ 5”. I know there were other issues but I don’t know specifics about those.

For roughly $200,000 +/-, I'd be expecting the brakes to work flawlessly. I mean, holy cow, maintaining the tires and brakes seems like something any dimwit can do, and PLUS, I'd think you would want to have the ability to stop the friggin' $200,000 car.

As for being a tad on the short side, did any one of us expect Evan to be anything other than short, and/or angry.
