Reminds me of the Sesame Street song...

Which of these are not like the others (insert melody)

Best,

Haha,

Ron, it is actually "One of these things is not like the others, ....."

But you get top marks for my laugh of day.

Hi Roger
I'm fully on your side and I'm happy to own this Elora Wrenches as they are good enough for me.

And if someone is able to see in the trunk if they are AF or W he's by fare TOOOO close to my 289 and my two cousins Toto and Franco will take care he’ll never try again…!

Ha! Great photo. How on earth did those two come to be wearing CS shirts? Probably better not ask.

I've decided to cover both bases. I've ordered a new set of Elora AF spanners, which can be the functional set, and a set of Whitworth spanners from this seller:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/lee.k.201...p2047675.l2562

- who has a huge inventory and is very helpful. Then I just have to remember to switch them over, depending on where I'm going and whether or not there's going to be a problem with the car.

Easy!

By the way, just in case anyone's interested, King Dick have been trading since 1856 and have been in their current factory since 1927.

I was at a presentation a couple of months ago, and they have a full range of 'heritage' tools in the pipeline. Nice stuff but won't interest the originality nerds. I mean, a combination ratchet Whitworth spanner?? Nice tools, though!
Just found the link for the heritage tools:

https://www.akdheritagecollection.co.uk

As I said, nothing really for us there but I think it's a great venture for someone to be doing these for the classic market. I should add that I am now the Heritage Manager for the FBHVC, which is the UK equivalent of the HVA in the US.

They did work for Shelby during the Targa Florio 1964.

Just to note: The Whitworth 'set'* I have bought from Lee, the UK seller on ebay, is marked with 'BSF' sizes on the 'Elora No.100 Made in Germany' side, and 'BSW' sizes on the 'CHROM-VANADIUM' side. All these spanners are marked the same way, no spelling variations. 'Chrom' is clearly not a spelling mistake or tooling fault, it's German for 'Chrome'. I would guess that variations occurring in sets 50 years on are mostly down to items getting mixed and matched - most boxed sets when new would have had consistent markings, I'd think.

* who knows? Might be an original set (I don't mean for Cobra), more likely not - but at least they match

I know, but I was in a no win situation. Had I said “one”, then there would have been a slew of responses that “two” wrenches were different.

The things I do for comedy in my life...
