Default c6ae-9425-k intake

Hello Gents -

Was hoping you could give me some info on one of the parts that I have come into possession - the c6ae-9425-k intake. Info seems lights, but I understand its an original Cobra 427 sidewinder intake...?

Thanks for any insight!

It is a FE sidewinder intake. I don’t believe it’s possible to know what it was originally installed on, or sold over the counter, etc.

My 1967 Ford Master Parts catalog for that intake reads:

"C6AZ 9424-K" (part number-not the number on the intake)
"66,67 A,B,F, S(with 4/B carb.)From 11/1/66 to 9/11/67 8 390"
and
"66,67 A(except P/I),S From 11/166 to 9/11/67 8 428"

The NVSAAC website mentioned above states:
"
"1966 Cobra 427-CSX3101-CSX3199 Intake Manifold C5AE-9424-K 2x4V aluminum low rise
1966 Cobra 428-CSX3200-CSX3300 Intake Manifold C6AE-9425-H Cast aluminum 1x4V PI intake, painted blue"

Of course, this doesn't mean it wasn't used on Cobras. the Mustangtek website describes it as:
"C6AE-9425-K

427

Ok66-67 427 Hipo Ford 4v

Ok67 427 Hipo Fairlane 4v

Ok68 427 Hipo Fairlane C6 TE w/4v

Certified390 406 427 428 All off highway operations.

4V

Sidewinder Intake Type

Aluminum

Port 1.94" x 1.24"

Ford Service Part Number ID C6AZ-9424-M"

The P/I intake is aluminum.
Glad I could clear that up..... Not.

Jim

If original Cobra production ended in Dec. 1966, that manifold would most likely have been to late to have been available.
