Early 289 High Beam Indicator
Trying to find out what high beam indicator was used on early 289's that were equipped with a Rotunda (or Sun/other) tachometer. These would be cars pre CSX 2201 but after the move to a Ford generator from the Lucas generator that used a Smiths 0-10000 rpm tachometer (with a red jewel high beam indicator at the bottom of the tach face). After the move to the Ford generator the generator driven Smiths tach would not work. Presumably these 289's would be in the range CSX 2070 to 2200.
The later 289's have an additional light above the three previous dash lights: left and right directional (green) and ignition (red).
But, what high beam indicator, if any, was used on say CSX 2190 or CSX 2188 etc.? Photos do not show any additional lights. Nor is a repurposed directional signal evident - as is done on some replicas - where one green light, on the right, handles both directions and a left blue light is used for the high beam (e.g. Superformance and CSX continuations).
My tentative conclusion, unless someone has other information, is that there originally was no high beam indicator on the noted series of cars.
