Hi Bill,
not even one Street 60" Cobra CSX had adjustable spring heights, this is what I found out so fare.
I know the book but do not have one on my own, need to think about it

I dont think the original poster want's to know if you can adjust the damping on original cars. I think he is wanting to know if the springs on the shocks are adjustable by a thread adjustment. I do not know if the say preload or ride height is adjustable without disassembly of the coil over shock. Do you have to change springs to change ride height or do you have to add shims. Or it as simple as using a spanner to change ride height or preload. This is what I think he wants to know. He needs to know how the original cars were when new. The posts that he was referred too I could not see enough detail in the pictures to see if they were adjustable with a spanner.

Jeff my guess is and I could be wrong. But the spring does not look adjustable with a spanner wrench. I believe that is what he wants to know.

Yes, correct, this is the correct word spelling - adjustable with a spanner
like modern suspensions to change the ride height.
on the pic from 1985 CCX I would like to interpret the lower spring plate, the nut to change the lower plate height is not really visible, but the guide (with thread) seams to look out on top? But I think this is more hope than it is in real.
do you have more infos about the pic? thx!
but maybe like these on the pic attached, I heard already that this design was originale Cobra mounted. OK... does anyone have more details please?
the pics from David Kirkham's Koni's, looks like self made Aluminium spanner adjustable lower spring plate. modern, not old
on the other threads and pics, I cannot see anything original on the pics about the coil overs.
BUT, if a Aftermarket Koni with spanner adjustabel was mounted in that periode (60 to early 70) and is documentated, it will fit my needs hopefully.

inside the registry book was found this (by my european friend)
maybe someone here could find some pics, where it is better recognizable and documentated as a Cobra out of the 60/70s

does the new 427 Registry (2020) include all of the old Registry (2004) ?
or do I need both books?
(I am already in contact to SCCA about the books)
Pictures of Cobra, including CSX Number, would be the winner.

Thx, which car do you have?
on the pic you can see the preload spring (yellow) to hold the spring when the damper is fully out (no load), thread for adjustment and nut.
this is not from the 60. seams to be a new aftermarket part.

Tough to say, as something as simple as spring rate, or internal dampener rate can make a HUGE difference in each instance.
As you asked the question, I have to ask "why"?
Are you asking about 60's technology vs the modern version (I assume you have the FFR supplied Koni's)? Are you thinking you want your spring rate sets up "like an original"? Exactly where are you going with this thread, and your reasoning for starting it?

what are you asking fore ??
I already told more than one time, what I am looking for.
I am not interested in blaming anyone or anything.
You told me, any CSX3xxx will do it for me, but not even one has a coil over with thread adjustment. Also nothing inside the books.
There is actually no information to proof that right.
