His question should not be this hard. It should be a simple Yes or No. He did not ask about adjustable dampening. His question is simple. DID AN ORIGINAL 427 COBRA COME WITH A COILOVER THAT THE SPRING PERLOAD OR RIDE HIGHT COULD BE CHANGED WITH A SPANNER ON THE SHOCK?
He needs to know what the car originally came with. Did the car originally came with a coil over that the spring could be adjusted with a spanner. If they did this will apparently help him get his car legal in his country.
I dough that any of the picture that have been posted are an original coil over that came stock on an original cobra.
I can not answer his question because I do not know if the spring on an original 427 cobra was adjustable with a spanner wrench.

As you asked the question, I have to ask "why"?
Are you asking about 60's technology vs the modern version (I assume you have the FFR supplied Koni's)? Are you thinking you want your spring rate sets up "like an original"? Exactly where are you going with this thread, and your reasoning for starting it?
Inquiring minds want to know.

sry if I misunderstood
No, nothing like that.
My basic FFR, modified on frame and everything else, has Öhlins mounted.
To get the Öhlins legal here, I need to proof, that an original Cobra had that, or something similar.

This shot shows an adjustable lower shock/coil mount:
This, on a car, that Kirkham was rebuilding the front and rear suspension, that was "concourse detailed". What you see is actually concourse correct, and is not a modern day update. Originality was kept for said reason, bolts and other items were re-manufactured, or reproduced from scratch for safety purposes, all per David.

Reason: added "coil" before mount

Hi Bill,
OK! do you have more details on it? a report to the car or anything else? Do you know the serial number or when and where the car was shown?
David did not answer yet to my friendly mail.
The thread from David is repairing the hub, he never touched the coil overs, I can still not beleave that the thread adjustment is old.

I got the Coil Spring Cobra Registry, no word about the coil overs inside.
