I dont think the original poster want's to know if you can adjust the damping on original cars. I think he is wanting to know if the springs on the shocks are adjustable by a thread adjustment. I do not know if the say preload or ride height is adjustable without disassembly of the coil over shock. Do you have to change springs to change ride height or do you have to add shims. Or it as simple as using a spanner to change ride height or preload. This is what I think he wants to know. He needs to know how the original cars were when new. The posts that he was referred too I could not see enough detail in the pictures to see if they were adjustable with a spanner.

Jeff my guess is and I could be wrong. But the spring does not look adjustable with a spanner wrench. I believe that is what he wants to know.
