Coilover suspension - on an Original?
Hello,
was ever mounted a coilover supension on an original build Cobra?
I think, all pics I found so fare are aftermarket changed suspension.
CSX3000 SC did't have that, so far my info. Maybe some Racing Cobras?
Regards

All 3000 series Cobras were coil over. The 2000 series were transverse leaf springs.

Umm, my understanding of a "coil over" is one that allows ride height adjustment, with the coil and damper concentric, but not a damper inside the spring...
...like this:

Glen

"Coil-over" implies only one thing: That the coil is concentric to the damper.
According to the original Driver's Handbook, the original (Armstrong?) 427 factory dampers did not have a height or damping adjustment. It's probable that the optional Konis that were used on the Comp cars were adjustable.

The currently active thread “ERA 753 final assembly in progress” has a link in post #243 to Fred Ks build with great pictures, even tho it’s an ERA, maybe will work for you.
It’s on the last page of the thread.

Jeff,
Do you have a picture available of the front of the suspension, looking aft, that shows the adjustability?
Cheers,
Glen

For your factory five cobra, or an original 60's built Cobra? They are not the same, nor are the parts interchangeable.

I do not need to find a cobra that fits mine.
I just need to find a original Cobra or early 70" with adjustable sprint height mounted, to get mine (with) more steet legal on the road in my country... just a technicality here

Any 60's built CSX3000 series car will do at that point. If you are looking for a specifics for your safety inspection, then SAAC.com Shelby American Automobile Club Buy a Cobra registry from them and you'll have all the information you'll need, as all of the specs are located within the registry.
