A single fan mounted in front of the radiator is original. Dual fans aren't original.
And yes, I know it's an old thread.

Twin pusher fans

I know this is an old post but I want to add the twin fans to my Superformance Cobra for looks only. Where did you get your fans? Thanks Lou

I like the look of the pusher fans on my car:
I used fan motors and fan blades from McMaster Carr but both are available from Finishline and others.
The pusher fans work just fine keeping the water temp at 185 at about 80 to 85 deg air temp in slow traffic.
In stop and go traffic or hotter temps I use my puller fan to keep things at 175 to 185 water temps.
I use a three position toggle switch: OFF/pusher fans ON/ pusher fans OFF - puller fan ON
And relays and temp ON?OFF sensor in case I'm not watching the temp gauge.
The pusher fans are also big hits at the car show.
Cheers
Greg

I added a touch of old school break in fan look.
They work well but I have a small block with a big radiator.

I have the same setup you do with the puller on my Unique. Even in heavy traffic, it hasn't gone over 190.
Not to go off topic, but your link to the Uniqueforums brings up an error for me, has for months and I'm a member. Just wondering if it does for others.

RB60,
I Installed a puller behind the radiator also, the pushers don't to the job in the summer where I live. The link works fine for me.

Hi Guys,
I am trying to locate fan motors closer to the original style, that I understand were from early Mustangs or Falcons. The size of the Mustang motors are a little longer than the ones currently available from most vendors. Do you know the part number for these fans and who might be selling them?
Also, it appears that the Mustang fan motors are a 2 wire, 3 speed fan. How is this fan wired?
Thanks for your help,
Martin

FWIW, ERA uses a Dayton 3LCH7. Two wires, easy to control via temp sensor in the lower radiator hose, toggle switch on the dash, or both.

Has anyone here with a Superformance done the same project? I plan to source the parts separately and fabricate my own brackets. But first I'm more interested in seeing how close to the opening they protrude due to the forward facing radiator, as well as seeing how the rod/bracket was mounted to either side? Thanks.

Thanks patrickt. The 3LCH7 is the motor I currently have. I was able to locate the original Ford motors and determine that the different speeds for the Mustang are controlled thru a resistor, so wiring will be the same as the 3LCH7. The search for originality is always fun.

Fan Install Project
Here is a link to my install including the parts used and how it was wired. You can also check out a post by Patrick for another wiring suggestion. Hope you can glean some ideas from them.

Nice work Fred, looks like your fan project turned out perfect. My fan circuit was designed into my harness from the beginning and it has been waiting for me to get the fans installed. I have a separate switch on the dash with a relay. I do have Lucas switches that have been great so far. We shall see.

I might do a re-wire

Mine are wired to a separate toggle on the dash to turn them on and off manually. I am having second thoughts about that and may re-wire them to operate off the sensor like the puller does. My Roush 427r never gets hot so I guess they are more for show. They are cool looking though. lol
