Default Accurate body position

Hi All,
I am positioning my body on a custom frame, and would like to know if there are any CSX or Kirkham guys that would be willing to share the front and rear measurements of their cars from the ground up to the lower edge of the wheel lip (just above the tire). It is a CSX body and it will be sitting over Roger Kraus treaded slicks if that matters.

Thanks everyone.
Mike.

Somebody asked me this a few years ago, but the only info I can find is a front fender measurement. This was on CSX4000, and it came out to 28.25" +/- .25" . The ground clearance is 5" to the front crossmember.

What CSX body are you using? The early glass bodies were not symmetrical and the pass side fender sits 1" higher than the driver's side. Just keep that in mind.

Hi All,
Kris.. thank you much for the measurement and photo.
There is a notable difference between your pic and Newell's.
But, that is what I'm here to figure out.
Newell, thank you much for the photo's with measurements!
These should come in most useful. Do you happen to know the
ride height of your car? I've seen original figures at 4.5 and 4.25,
any input? Also, I noticed that your goodyears seem to have
raised letter.. what type are they? Mine are just sprayed on.

PS. Newell. Thank you very much for the pleasure of your
avatar!! Where can I pick up one of those in the Plymouth area?!

Mike.

Mike ~ your welcome. I am just guessing that the ride height measurement is from the bottom of the body to the ground?? If that is it, let me know and I will take a look at it.

The tires are Goodyear billboards that I purchased from Roger Krause Racing. I have used a "fabric" pen to color them. Just the out line of the letters are raised.

In regards to the avatar.......I'll never tell

Brian

Hi Brian,
The ride height is generally established from the ground to the base of the frame rail. I just found some great info on Kirkham's site for street and race prepared vehicles. I guess there is a lot of room for preference! Thank you again for the great help. And oh yeah.. nice Kirkham !

HI Brian,
No relation to Roger Kraus unfortunately... That would really help with the big goodyears! I need to replace one of the rear tires that I have. Anyway, I am getting ready to set up the windshield (once I find one at a reasonable price) and was hoping that you may know the windshield angle. Maybe measured from th side post?? I'm trying to determine the rake angle that looks somewhere between original and your avatar! Hope things are well.

Thanks,
Mike.

Mike ~ not sure I understand what measurement you are looking for.

Hi Brian,
I am looking to find out how far the windshield slants back. I have had a few feedbacks that suggest it is 45 degrees at the center. I have seen another one or two that give me the measurements of 48 and 53 degrees (I think measured from the side post). I am trying to stay 'original' so that other peoples tops will fit, and I can offer my stuff to others. I would like the laidback look found on a lot of Contemporary cars. I guess I'm trying to find a baseline so that at least the popular side curtains will fit correctly with. Any ideas?

Thank you,
Mike.
