Default fuel pump on comp cars

Hello

I've some questions about the used fuel pumps!

Which kind of fuel pumps where used on the original comp. cars (289 USRRC)?
Stewart Warner; Bendix, ...?

How and at which place where they mounted? (single -double ; trunk;...)

And does one of you know, where I could buy them today?

Regards from Switzerland
ALF

Default Fuel pumps

To the best ofmy knowledge Comp cars had the SW 240 A pumps,(2), installed in the upper right handcornerof the trunk, just as Shelby still does.

The SW pump wasused on GT 350's, and allof the GT 40's, up to and including theMK 4. Also used on the Galaxie lightweights and Thunderbolts.

Where to purchase, ebay, and me. I have over 30 pumps, several NOS. E-mail me.

on the 289 comp cars:
manufactuer - stewart warner, type 240A
early 289 - inside the trunk mounted on the drivers side about 2/3 of the way toward the trunk openning mounted on the verticle surface or side of the trunk. one pump
late 289 - mounted between the roll hoop legs on a bracket that is welded to the rear suspension diagonal brace tube for the left rear suspension shock, one pump
*both early and late cars utilized engine driven mechanical pumps and the electric units were for boosting the the line presure when the fuel system was on reserve circuit primarily*
427 - where CSX3183 said. two pumps

c.s. now uses faucet (bendix style) pumps on thier current production.

My Shelby (CSX 4068) was delivered with a pair of Facet brand electric pumps similar to this one:

http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pro...s.asp?RecId=86

It does not have the red/gold pattern or decal like the one pictured, but has a golden finish like the ports shown in the pics.

They are mounted in the trunk on the right side.
