The "Road Slug" CSX2323 was located in Nashville. It may have been repainted since this shot.

Well, I undersatand it was blue but that it had a red/orange stripe...I think CSX2260 had the yellow...!! That isn't what I had in mind...but it is quite a coincidence or a photo shop ? Thanks for the laugh...

I still get a kick out the CSX train joke.
Stop me if you've heard this one. "Guy walks into a bar,,,,,, the next guy ducks." Whew, THAT one's been in the family for decades, we still chuckle when Uncle tells it.

I saw it at the Targa

I happen to be in Italy when Shelby's Cobra Team raced at the Targa in 1964. It was amazing, every time they even started the cars the Italians would go nuts. Most of them had never heard a big block (289) American V8a and the noise would shake the ground. As I recall, all the cars were a light blue (Ford Viking Blue) and Gurney's car had a red/orange nose bar and Phil Hills had a yellow one. Anyway, Gurney's car finished 8th overall and really was the hit of the race except for some local school teacher that won . I thought if I ever had a Cobra I would want one that looked like that #146. Of course I never imagined there would be a replicar industry 44 years later but since there is, I will take delivery of a Superformance in those colors this month. I was just curious about what had happened to the original CSX2323 and I am please to know that it has been restored and would make a "pilgrimage" just to see it.

Yep. Just saw it a month ago. It's sitting in Bruce Canepa's collection in Scotts Valley, CA. The museum and showroom is open every Saturday.
