Hmmm, longer WHEEL BASE or stretched front or rear of the suspension to accomodate a longer body? I'm not assuming the Flip Top chassis was lengthened or shortened afterward. Just wondering how the chassis in question might have been 'lengthened' in the first place.
Footnote:
Shelby never did want to deal with the 255 cid project, it was pushed on him by Ford, like the GT40 was as well. His thinking was the engine was to unreliable and complex to deal with.

This is the pic that probably creates more questions than it answers!

Why? Looks like the standard WB to me judging by where everything sits. It's pretty easy for pictures to make things looked longer or shorter but the position of the pipes, doors, etc. all look right.

I agree that it looks like a 90" WB, but Front wheel doesnt appear to be centered in wheel arch which would suggest body is intended for longer WB?
Not trying to start a war here, but other pics I have in books etc from Nassau meeting show the wheel more centered in arch which is why I asked for info at start of thread. Now its possible that this car may have been rebuilt/ restored at some stage and reverted to 90", in which case its unlikely that the issue will ever be resolved. For my part I will make my car with 93" simply because its already in that region.

I think the wheel is just turned a little to the left.
