Default Original Door Opening Trim

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how the door openings were finished off on original cars please?
I'm interested in how the carpet edge was finished off and if a trim strip was used. I have a Kirkham and it isn't obvious how this should be done as the carpet supplied has a raw cut edge.
Thanks,
Paul

The original S/C was only vinyl covered and w/o pockets. I have several pictures I will forward to you.....Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the reply. However, I was more interested in the edge of the door opening in the body, rather that the door itself. On my Contemporary, I made a pair of ali door trim strips, they looked good, but I don't know how "original" they were.
Thanks again.

Paul

As far as I know, S/C's did not have any trim around the door opening like the street model did.
Here's a photo of CSX3042 from csxinfo.net. Notice the carpet just has edeging sewn on it and no trim is installed on the door opening.
BTW, Jeff is correct about the door panels as well. You can see a little of it in the photo.
HTH,
Larry

Thanks Larry. That's the sort of information I'm looking for.
Whilst I know that S/C Cobras didn't have door pockets, I am tempted to have them fitted just to put a few odds and ends end when I'm out and about in it.

Many original cars came with an aluminum L channel strip rivited to the top of the door sill, which also tucks the carpet edge under it. Looking at the pics I have, some cars have it, and some don't.
