Thanks guys some good info. It appears that a lot of this stuff is available but as suspected it is pricey, hard to find and not all available from one vendor. It didn't give much info on them in the chassis manual. Larry can you just turn your vents around? Sounds like you have the correct knobs what are they from any idea? I had a feeling a group buy would be difficult to coordinate as we had differences from the git go with me being street dash and no one wanting to shell out $300 for two switches. We'll persevere on it though.

I finally had a chance to check the air vent knobs that came with my Ace (they are not installed yet) and they are the "PULL" version. The package they came in has a receipt from Moss Motors and says they are from an Austin Healey 100-6 and 3000. The P/N in the Moss catalog shows 635-510.

I have a broken one and it says "Pull" however, after thinking about it, I think it would be better to have the vent open with the knob pushed in. Here in Tucson, the vent needs to be open most of the time and you'd be running around with the knob in the way if were open/pull. So probably open/push would better.
I'm going to have to fab up the vent controls anyway (thank you Paul!), I can set it up to work either way.
What mine are from, I don't know for sure. I just collected them along the way somewhere.

I have found many of the pieces you are looking for are available from Superormance. If they are clones, they've done a very good job. I purchased my dimmer, heater and wiper knobs from them

My air vent knobs came from VictoriaBritish. You'll need to take your chances on the quality. Some are engraved and filled with white, others are just hot-stamped with white.

Jay that's super info thanks. Look at these Hurricane guys go huh! Someone else suggested the SPF stuff as it sure looks the part. It looks like when we have a good list of who to hit up for parts we'll make ourselves a list of who's needing what. I did hit a couple of couldn't resist buy it now e-bay items and have e-mailed a good e-bay supplier from England to see about some group buy action but haven't heard back yet. http://stores.ebay.com/Classic-Bits_...QQftidZ2QQtZkm I have a couple of the footbox vents that Karl wants off me but before he gets them I'll be making those if anyone else will be needing them. Hopefully the cables and cable hardware is available from Moss or whoever we get pulls/pushes from. This is looking good guys, we'll keep it moving.

Nick, I have found Moss has many things that seem to be "correct" but matching them up is difficult from the drawings on their web site and in their catalog. Luckily, I work about 2 miles from their west coast store and so I can always go in and compare parts before buying. If there are any parts that need to be matched, let me know and I'll see if I can find an available option. BTW, for the vent cables, the ones Moss has are too long, but can easily be cut down with a bicycle cable cutter (cuts the outer sheath without damaging the inner cable) and be made to fit perfectly.
Jay
PS It looks like my other project will be proceeding so I'll be calling soon on some outriggers.

Nick,

Are you going to start making those footbox vent valves like the one I had in the box you inspected while you were out here? If it's a dead ringer, I will be in the market for another one.

Hi Tom, good to hear from you. It would be a dead ringer and a good discount for you if I can borrow that one for a few days........Any progress on your other project?

Hey Paul
Speaking of footbox vents, I was glancing at your site but didn't see your version to fit Hurricane. Is that on your site or do have any plans?

Based on this thread Headlight and instrument light switch question Jeff references these part numbers, 3R 78405 for the dimmer and PRS7 54033632 for the rotary 3 position wiper switch. I found both of them new on ebay from the seller Nick mentions above, ClassicBits in England. Took about 10 days to arrive, $133 USD for the pair, delivered. I already had the Lucas knob from Moss and I found the Lucas wiper connector from Josh at www.britishwiring.com. , item #805.

Ignition switch question:
Does anybody know if Lucas made an ON/OFF keyed switch? Part number?
Hopefully one that has the smooth outer mounting ring with the two slots in it like the three position switch.
I'm using a seperate push button starter switch and would like have a an accurate looking, ON/OFF-only ignition switch.

Hey all
Another dash item that I'm looking for is the small indicator lights mounted on the dash. Does anybody have a source for the correct ones?
