I had thought that Dave Dralle manufactures/modifies a ford 9" diff housing as a drop in replacement for the dana44. May not be a bad way to go.

Default Diff Update

the diff has a few mods
It takes the dana and jag gears, and the back plate is dowled and has the main bearing housing built into the back plate.
all going together nicely so far,
Just trying to source some good outputshaft holders.
Will keep you posted when fitted in car.

I'm looking at making a set of side plates for mine. I'm not sure whether I want to make them Jag size bearings or the Cobra$ bearings.

The more I look at that case the more I am thinking it is sourced from Kirkham, maybe as a raw casting, and finished at another location. The visual cues are quite similar.

That cast back cover is sweet, that ought to add a lot of rigidity to that pumpkin.

got mine through a cobra maker NDM.
The cost was £1,600 GBP
that is serious money for originality.
my entire donor parts (Jag axles) were bought and refurbed for less than that! I admire the lengths you guys go to.
