If you are going, and haven't already, PM me your e-mail address please. I will be sending out further info closer to the cruise.

Thanks,

Default Not going to make the cruise

Last Sunday, I took the Daytona out for a ride to check everything out before leaving for Harrison today. We got about 30 miles from home and the engine just quit. Luckily, I could pull over into an abandon church driveway to get off Highway 16. A couple pulled over to help and took me back to the house to get the Tundra and trailer. After a nervous time to get truck, trailer and ramps off the highway, I loaded the Daytona and took it home. I did some preliminary trouble shooting and I was not getting and voltage to the coil.

I called Roush Monday (I have the Roush 8 stack injection and their Fast XFI ECU system). Tuesday, via telecom, it was decided that the MSD distributor was the problem. I was still thinking I could still make the trip, but the distributor has not shipped as of this morning.

I read that someone has already paid for the BBQ and I would be willing to "Pay Pal" them the money for the two of us.

I am really disappointed but such is life in the world of owner built cars. Have a great cruise.

Terry and Natalie

Had plenty of excitement yesterday....took out a 4 point buck (driver ok, car survived pretty well), spinout going up mt nebo, and a harley rider fell over in front of one of our cars and came within inches of getting ran over. Hope to have a calmer drive today :-)

Gee, after that post I'm almost afraid to ask how the rest of the weekend went.

We decided to work on our Cobra this past weekend getting ready for paint. If we can get finished we can participate instead of spectate.

Tim, have the trees turned yet? Just wondering since we haven't had a freeze or even close to it yet. Busy time of the year for us, would love to make that trip with you guys some time.

Clois

Will post some pics up later. Rest of trip was almost uneventful compared to Friday. We only had one other hiccup with an air bubble in a radiator that caused some issues, but got that fixed, and we were on our way.

Clois, trees weren't quite at full color yet...probably another week or better yet, but still, some nice color, you'll see in the pics posted later.

I thought I'd be checking in after hours but spent most of the last five days in bed with the flu. I think I'll have a running car for next year.

I had a great time as always. I have included a little video (yes it has my spinout at the end included).
Looking forward to Tim's pictures of the trip.

If y'all were following Tim, then I'm surprised everyone didn't spin out.

Sorry Tim, couldn't resist.

Glad you weren't hurt. Mt. Nebo is one twisty drive. Great view from the top too.

Gordon, you can ask any of these guys, I didn't go faster than 110 at any time Will post pics tomorrow. This website apparently hates tablets. Takes forever to load, or see them on our Facebook page a https://www.facebook.com/GatewayCobraClub

Video from a cell phone, it does get clearer. Don't know how to put a video in the post.....

Day 2! Not as eventful, but just as fun. Thanks again for working to put this cruise together every year!

At Big Cedar Lodge there are 3 stream crossings...figured I would 'baptize' the newbies on our cruise (Peter, Mark P, and Keith)

It's always a car show when we stop

The roads weren't so bad either

It was a great time and got to meet some new people that will join us at future events in Nw Arkansas. Hope everyone will consider coming with us next time, there are too many roads that weren't taken this trip so it will be a new adventure next time!
