SAAC 37 AT Watkins Glen June,7,8,9 2012
I am sure most here know that SAAC 37 Will be at Watkins Glen in June 2012.
Since 2012 will be the 50th anniversary of the Cobra I am sure there will be a few extra Cobras at this event.
When the GT40 has it's reunion at the Glen 40+ original 40's were in attendance.(largest gathering up to that date)
With SVRA having vintage races the same weekend I am sure there will be even more Cobras racing in their run group.
If you have not already booked a room you still have a chance to get a room at the Glen Motor Inn which has decided to not book any rooms until Jan 1 2012. It is probably the closest motel to the track that is not already booked up.(6mi)
Welcome to the Glen Motor Inn in Watkins Glen

Roger; Told the wifey about the SAAC meet and up until she found out how far Watkins Glenn is from here (about 22 hours, maybe more) she was all for it!!!!!!
We're looking at options,I'd like to make it if at all possible, we'll see........

Dave, this may be your best opportunity to drive the Glen and see the J M show at the Seneca Lodge. All the Club Cranky guys have signed up and booked rooms.
Hope to see you in June.

What do you mean Hope I can pull this off? You live next door in PA, attendance is required. Guys drive all the way to Ohio to do burnouts so driving to the Glen from PA is a no brainer.

LOL
I drive there every year, for the Vintage Grand Prix.
The NorthEast extension in a Cobra is a blast............when it is not raining or snowing

Not sure about a lot of things right now, got my race car up for sale. Could trailer my 65 fastback street car up there and run it, or we could just drive up in my wife's new 2011 Stang....Not sure she would let me run it on the track, although she would probably want to drive the track at least for the parade laps.....
we'll see, trying to figure the best option at this time.....

Hi Jim!
Sorry I missed you at the Vintage GP. It was great.
Just getting the engine freshened up. Pistons, bearings, heads etc..
It had a hard life
I didn't blow it up or anything...like Kenny does LOL
It'll be pretty stout

June 7,8,9 2012.
The SAAC convention is the best get together of Shelby Cobras, real and not so real every year.
Since it will be the 50th anniversary of the Cobra you will probably see more real Cobras in person then you have ever seen. I am sure Cobra #1 will be there like it usually is at the biggest events.

Also, If you are going to spectate and plan on being there for that week I have a couple lake houses for rent on Seneca lake about 30 miles from the track. That week is open for both houses at the moment. Can handle between 10 and 16 people depending on the house. There is no parking for a trailers however. Just throwing it out there. PM me if interested.
