EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
WHERE LA'S MEMORABILIA COLLECTORS FIND THEIR STUFF...
An annual event in Los Angeles is some type of literature fair.
In the past two years the fair has been held at the Automobile Driving Museum at 630 Lairport in El Segundo and it will be again at the end of June.
El Segundo is a town very close to Los Angeles LAX airport, located within cannon shot of Shelby's LAX factory in the Sixties.
This year the fair will be from 9 am to 2 pm on Sunday, June 30th.
Most of the stuff offered is genuinely "in period" not new stuff like car theme T-shirts, hats and badges made in current times. Some of the best buys are in old out of print magazines--whole collections.
Original art work is also sold but car parts are not. If there are hard parts, it's memorabilia, such as trophies for racing, manufacturer's signs, etc. but no generators, engines, gearboxes fog lamps and the like. Model cars are a popular subject as well as some art work and photographs.
Sometimes it seems there are more sellers than customers, but that's because it is an out of the way event, not seen from the street (but only yards from popular Sepulveda Boulevard)
In past years this event was a Society of Automotive Historians event.
You do not have to be a SAH member to have a booth. Those vendors who still want a booth can contact the museum through their website
