Anyone going to the Cobra Extravaganza at Lake Garnett Oct 10-11?
I am planning to drive down for the Cobra Extravaganza and the vintage races. Anyone else planning to attend?

I am not planning on taking my Cobra, but a buddy and I are thinking we are going to drive over from Missouri. He has an '05 Mustang GT with like 10,000 miles on it...I think we are taking that.

Weather permitting, I'm driving the roadster down. Look me up. Car #13.

There are several of us coming from Topeka. Two cobras and a Pantera. We went last year and had a generally good time. Hope to see you there!

Sounds good. I was hoping to run into some "local" Cobra owners!

3 or 4 guys from St. Louis are traveling there. (wish I could join them, looks like fun!)

Confirmed! We are in. Schedule conflict with a birthday party, but my wife understands this is a Cobra Extravaganza!

Looks like 20 or so Cobras have signed up. The weather forecast is favorable. Should be a great time. I was there last year and was impressed with the turnout and the venue. This year they have expanded to two days.

Just a bump to get this back on the main page...this looks like a fun event and more of us should be going!

Really? An event this close at a famous Cobra track and we don't have more members of the forum attending? KC and St Louis both have a Cobra club...but nobody is going?

St Louis had 2 representatives there yesterday and today and MACC had a few as well
It was a great event, and I to was a little disappointed in the amount of Cobra attendees. Having said that, Winchester, I don't recall seeing either of the cars pictured above at the event yesterday or today.

That photo looks like it was taken early on Saturday. That was prior to the three original Cobras were parked in the middle of the street. I was hoping for more original cars to show up.
IMO, the event in total was not very exciting :-(

We were there in the Mustang. It was fun to see/hear cars out on the track, and the price was certainly right...I could not believe everything was free! I will be back.

Exactly! Track time two different days AND giving charity rides for the local Boys and Girls Club for less the $100! A-Snake, I'm curious as to what 'excitement' you were looking for? Having tried to organize a similar event in St Louis, it takes a lot of work and money to pull it off. I had a lot of questions prior to the event, and mistakenly tried to treat it as any other track weekend event, which, as I found out it wasn't.....it was much more than that. Friday's social was a little bland and cramped for space, but overall not bad. Saturday's Car show was just the right amount of time - 3 hours - before heading out to the track. Giving charity rides ended up being the highlight of the day for me, besides seeing the 3 289's lined up on the street. I was able to give 4 rides, well, actually, I let one of my riders DRIVE! I later found out that the ride along's gave over 120 rides to help raise money for charity The Cobra Extravaganza was a little blah, BUT, it was exactly what they made it out to be - an exhibition of Cobra's (Real and Replica's) on this historic track. Sunday was fun as well, but I would have rather have kept it limited the classes to vintage/historic vehicles TYPES rather than having the modern mustangs, camaro's and BMW's included (maybe have their own class). I thought for the limited resources and cost, they pulled off a great event.

A friend of mine captured a pic of the three 289's before everyone crowded around them

And we got to hear them run at the track, even though it was not a "race" still cool.

My buddy had the good camera...I will have to get some shots from him. Couple of real Shelby Mustangs out...and a Boss 302.

And remember, no charge to see the show or hang out at the track.
