Default London Cobra Show special guest

If you didn't catch it on Franks post about the London Cobra Show, Bob Johnson will be joining us that weekend! Spending time and talking with just us!

Bob raced Shelby roadsters and coupe from '63 to '66. '63 SCCA A-production champion. '64 national SCCA points champion. At the Daytona Continental in '64, finished right behind three Ferrari GTOs in his Cobra, running on 7 cylinders, with co-driver Dan Gurney. Driving again with Gurney at the twelve hours of Sebring, Gurney and Johnson where leading the class when a fiery crash ended their day and the car was so badly destroyed that they just cut it up and threw it in the dumpster! The Alfa that was running without lights that Bob rear ended, burst into flames and Bob and the car went end over end for hundreds of feet and Bob had only a black eye and a broken nose to show for it. Remember the picture of the Coupes tire floating away in the pits at the '65 12 hours of Sebring? Yep, Bob and Tom Payne behind the wheel. The Coupe ended up placing seventh overall. Ever hear of the 'bandaid kids'? Johnson and Johnson? Bob also raced vettes and Chaparrals with Jim Hall!

Imagine the stories that Bob will have to share with us! Well, that is just what Bob wants to do. Hang out with us and tell tall tales of the glory days of the Cobra.

Come and spend some one on one time with one of the great drivers of the Cobra era!

Know some Bob history? Post it here!

Thanks

Rick
