Default April 28th Book signing for new book on SHELBY

BOOK SIGNING FOR SHELBY BOOK APRIL 28TH

Autobooks/Aerobooks, at 3524 W Magnolia Blvd, Burbank, CA-- a store that has been in business over half a century--is scheduling
a book signing for a new business bio on Carroll Shelby on Saturday , April 28th between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The book is entitled SHELBY The Man. The Cars. The Legend. It is already in print and copies being shipped from the Wisconsin publisher.

The book chronicles first the racing career of Carroll Shelby and then details the history of his automotive business ventures with chapters on the small block Cobra, big block Cobra, Daytona coupe, Shelby Mustangs, Sunbeam Tiger, Dodge minicars, Dodge Viper, and Shelby Series 1. There are also two chapters on LeMans racing and one on Shelby's war with the clonesters.
The book ends with a chapter chronicling how Shelby camec back to Ford with a description of the current Shelby Mustang.
The author describes the book as "primarily a words book" with 57,000 words though it does have 16 pages of photographs.
For a preview of what the book is about, there's an author interview in English on a German Mustang club site

The same author is also hoping to have copies of another new book he wrote with Al Axelrod and Brian Winer called "Ford GT40 and the New Ford GT." The book is being printed in Hong Kong and a few will be flown in if it is off the presses by then. These will be hard to get, with not even one for every one of the 4200-plus '05-'06 Ford GT owners.
The author promises refreshments, and a celebratory cake cutting at noon. Those who arrive in their own two seater Cobra , real or replica, will be given an autographed photo from the author's collection .
The bookstore number is (818) 845-0707. Contact man is Doug Stokes.
