Knotts Show or Newport Beach FFR show? Why on the same day?
Here is the dilemma. Do I go the knotts show that has a variety of handcrafted cars or the one day FFR cobra only gathering?
I am hard pressed to understand why FFR would have a show or gathering on the same day as the knotts berry farm show. The support of the industry is needed to keep the knotts show going. I am all for FFR doing their own thing, but at the expense of the people that dedicate time and money to put on the knotts show and keep the hobby going. I go to the knotts show to enjoy the fellowship of ALL people interested in handcrafted cars. If I go to knotts, I surely will miss my FFR buddies and same goes if I attend the FFR gathering.
Maybe some of you can help me understand.

I read curiously on another thread yesterday that some folks were saying there was conflict on the weekend of the 26th and 27th of April between the FFR Huntington Beach show with Knotts. As far as I know, the Knotts Fabulous Fords Forever show is on April 20, 2008. That may help you I hope.

Not absolutely sure about this but I think the FF cruise/show starts after Knotts shuts down for the day.

rokndad,
The Knotts Kit car show weekend is the weekend after the Ford show. At least it has been for the last 3 years.

That takes the mystery out of things. Is there a website for the FFR event the week after the Knotts Ford Show?

Guys they are not talking about the fords show at knotts. They are talking about the AHA kit car show at Knott's which is the same day as the Hunington beach cruise in. I am at a loss as to why they would be on the same day myself

FFR Factory guys and customers will be at both shows. Besides, the two shows are a short drive apart, there is no reason why you couldn't do both in the same day. Most of the guys from AZ will be at the Knotts show during the day and then head down to the beach in the afternoon.
What could be better, car show, cruise, car show....sounds like fun to me.

Just to clarify some things:
Dates - we are hosting the Huntington Beach event on the same day as the Knotts show to make it easier on us. We can't bring the big rig, loaded with cars (as well as a team of guys) out to SoCal too many times in a year, so it made sense to combine the two events.
Background - customers were providing feedback to us that hanging out in a hot parking lot all day was not as much fun as they are used to having. Huntington Beach offered better views, better food options, cooler breezes, more possibilities for future events, and a new audience all in one.
Cost - believe it or not, after sponsoring all of our customers the last few years at Knotts, it's actually cheaper to host an event in HB rather than to continue the support as we have in years past.
Details - it's a one day event down at the Pier, and we are reviewing whether we have enough space to open it up to everyone (we should have more info on our site soon). Since it is only one day, some customers will choose to head over to Knotts on Sunday. Obviously, we welcome everyone to hang out with us at the Pier plaza.
