27th Annual Literature Faire and Exchange
June 28, 2009
The Society of Automotive Historians Southern California Chapter presents its 27th annual Literature Faire and Exchange. Once again, the Faire takes place at the NHRA Wally Parks Museum at the Fairplex in Pomona, California, 1101 West McKinley Avenue.
At this Faire you find a good many automotive writers, both professional and amateur, from which you can buy press kits (I got a nice Rolls Royce Phantom DHC kit there last year). Plus there's artists, model car collectors, magazine collectors, etc. There are no cars nor car parts allowed which is what makes it different from the huge Pomona Swap meet. This is more of a collectors nostalgia event or hey how about calling it "ratpackers ball?".
Spectators pay no admission.Times are 8 AM to 3 PM June 28, 2009. (NOTE: Though that's the official time, I've seen people enteri at 7 am to escape the heat of the day) Enter at Gate #1 of McKinley, turn right and park in the Museum lot. A catering truck is on the premises and fortunately it's right next to a nice hotel if the heat gets to you and you gotta get some of that air conditioning....
Yours truly will have a couple 22" x 30" prints on canvas of Cobras and lots of mini-posters 15" x 20" . You can preview them at
