MOMO Seat Belts
Two (2) MOMO seat belts for sale. The local drag strip would not let me run with out an anti-sub belt (crotch belt). I had to install full race seat belts. The MOMO are the best looking belts I could find when building my car. They are two inch street belts that are very comfortable. If you do not want a anti-sub belt they are the sure thing. Cost new $100 each. Perfect condition will sell both for $100 and I will pay freight. Dennis Tapp 405-736-0705

Dennis,
What are the date codes? What style latches do they have? What are the minimum belt lengths for the lap and shoulder belts? Are they 'bolt in' or 'clip in'? What color are they? Is this an accurate picture:

Thanks.

The picture you have is exactly what I have. The color of my belts is black. I purchased them in the summer of 2000. I do not know what date is own the belts. I will look when I go home. I will also measure the length. They are bolt in. Dennis

MOMO SEAT BELTS
The belts were made in September 1998. The overall length of the shoulder straps is 75 inches. Overall length of waist belts is 30 inches on each side. Dennis

Dennis,
What are the minimum lengths when the belts are adjusted? Also, have they been sitting in the box for the last four years? Thanks.

MOMO belts
The belts set in Italy or Portland,Or. (where I bought them) until fall of 1999. I installed them in 2000 when the car was finished. I took them out last weekend to install the Simpson belts with the anti-sub belts. They are now setting in the Simpson boxes. You can tighten these belts up to little of nothing. You could carry your kids doll if you wanted. Dennis

Won't pass any drag strip:
2" wide and date code no good.

MOMO belts
Dear Jeff, Thank you for your in put. If you really had your head out of your _______ , you would have read that is why I took them out of the car. These are street belts and the date means nothing for street use. Have you ever exchanged the seat belts in your car. The drag strips want anti-sub belts in open cars. (that is want our local track wants) Thanks again. Dennis

Dennis,
Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. Do they bolt in or snap in ends? Please let me know if Ron doesn't buy them. Thanks. Have a great week!

Dennis:
A four point belt should not be used anywhere, even on the street. There was an thread on this in the past, I can't find it, the search function is not working properly. Under certaint circustances, you can slide under the lap belt without the crotch strap. Also you can not get the lap belt to be in the corrrect possition over your hips. When you sinch the shoulder straps down, it pulls the lap belt up too high.
Take a look in a Summit cataloge, not one 4 point harness in there. BTW, thanks for telling me to get my head out of my ass, I don't know what I am talking about.

Dear Jeff with the ERA and the Side Oiler,
RELAX!!!!!!
There are many of us out there that get out of bed every day wishing that someone would upgrade his car so that we would have a chance to buy his hand me downs at a reduced price. I would venture to say that most of us are also mature adults able to make decisions about ouer own safety and well being.......("helmet laws suck" as they say.....), and there is always a safer way to do things, but this is not Club Volvo.......

Jeff,
You are correct about 4 points not being nearly as safe as a 5 point for the street. In an accident your torso wants to slide under the lap belts which can cause severe injury. Hence the role of the anti-sub belt. I just wanted a set of belts to use to mach up my mounts and then I figured I would turn around and resell them to someone else for street use, as we are going with 5 point belts in the end. But the car is many months from being completed, so I didn't want to spend the $ on a set of belts that would be half-expired (date-wise) by the time the car is sorted out.
Dennis,
One of my friends gave me a set of Deist belts that I am using to mach up my mounts, so I no longer have a need for these belts. Good luck selling them. I don't think Jeff meant to come across so abrupt. He just wanted to remind everyone that 5 points are a much safer alternative, if you can mount them in your car/seats. Thanks again.

Jon:
When somebody tells me I need to get my ass out of my, how do you expect me to respond. Most people don't know that 4 point harnesses are no good.
Mike:
Thank you. BTW, you can get a brand new 5 point harness from the latest the Summit catalog (pg. 271) for $59 ea.

They are SOLD.
I bought these belts. They are perfect for me.
I don't intend to race my car. If installed properly, the belts are comfortable and safe. They are also quick and easy to operate. We don't like wrestling around with the 5 point belt or the cumbersome latching mechanisms that come on them. If I were racing my car, I'd go with something different,... but to each his/her own. The reason we assemble these cars (versus buying one turn-key) is because we want to set them up to our own preferences.
