Default Drive your Cobra on Texas Motor Speedway for $25

For anyone who ever dreamed of driving their Cobra on Texas Motor Speedway, this weekend will feature an event that is perfect for you. Speedway Children’s Charities is hosting Laps For Charity on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. You can drive you car behind an official Texas Motor Speedway pace car on the 1.5-mile superspeedway.

The cost is $25 for three laps. Pictures in Victory Circle will be available. Car clubs are welcome and all passengers must be at least six years old to ride. Proceeds benefit Speedway Children’s Charities. For information, contact (817) 215-8564.

I am not involved with this event and have not attended it previously. However, a Shelby Cobra Association of Texas member recommended it highly.

Usually, they restrict you to 80 mph MAX. Oddly enough, the faster your car looks the slower they go!?!?! In a Cobra, bet on 75-80 mph max, but if you take a primer grey Impala leaking oil they may let you do 100. But hey, it's for a good cause.
