Shelby's autograph.
Since all you guys in the states are busy lining ol' Carroll up in your sights, maybe one of you would have a spare piece of autographed memorabilia that you could send to me in Australia, (for a price of course). I am an avid collector of cobra models and cobra memorabilia but as yet i dont have anything with his autograph on it. Thanks guys, Andy.

Ya, but if having his signature is important, it may be worth the price.

Just thought I would jump in, I attended the atlantic city N.J. car auction and was one of the lucky one to get two autographs from carroll shelby that I will hold on to for my retirement ? By the way his first cobar one of 10 was auction for $197,000 not bad. I though it would go for more.

AC Andy,,,,,not all of us are lineing up Shelby in our sights. I'd be tickled to get his signature myself.
I wish he had higher standards of the Cobra replicas he signs though. I've seen some replicas that were not even close to "accurate" and yet were signed by C.S. That bothers me, but I'll get over it.

ac, make the call as it is a long way to send something for ya down under.
however, my guess is he WILL SIGN IT....i have seen him sign items and he never asked what it was off of. his signature is on dashboards of non sai cobra replicas as well, not just the glove box door, but the dash itself ! there are many non sai brand replicas here that display CS signatures on various parts of the car : glove box door, air cleaner cover lid, sun visor ...he doesnt' care is my take, just pay the donation for his charity and send the item to him. as i recall, they also want a postage paid return mail box or whatever included with what ya send him, but not sure. whoever answers the phone will give you directions, i just forget now what they were when i inquired. b

I looked on ebay there are actually nice posters and parts signed by Shelby/Hill/Bonduront. Some guys make quite a few bucks from this stuff.

Last Feb I was at SAAC does Vegas. While roaming around SAI looking for a hat to buy, my wife admonished me about getting anything with Mr. Shelby's name on it. He was still going through the law suits at that time.
Anyway I picked out a hat and she purchased a poster with Mr. Shelby's autograph already printed on the poster...Then she has the Man himself re-sign the poster. He was wondering around the showroom floor. Total cost for him to sign. Zip-Zero-Nada.
He also, signed a poster for BT Snake. We did, on our own, donate a few bucks to his charity.
Later in the day he was signing autographs at the event. The lines were very long.

I have a few items signed by him. I must be fair to say they were signed before I became a customer of his.
I have seen him sign for others as well as me items for free.
During the SAAC in Las Vegas in February, there was a big gathering of autograph seekers, and I was told one sure way of getting your item signed is to get a ticket for a donation to the Children's Fund and that put you in the line thus assuring an authograph.
I did NOT see him turn anyone away. I watched him get in and out of cars (replicas) and sign the dashes etc.
TURK
If unable to get one, send it to me I'll sign it for you!!

you guys are mighty honourable. Turk, I think your autograph eould look much better on my dash. Maybe 750hp could send you that posca pen he was talking about and you could draw me a little picture as well! Ha Ha.
When I get my glovebox lid ready, i will see how we go.
