curioius as what you mean that they don't fit, do you mean the bolt pattern doesn't fit or that the offset and tire combination doesn't fit properly in the wheel wells? I presume it's the latter, if so, what tires and dimensional back spacing were you using prior to the trigos and is your fit problem too deep into the wheel well or set out beyong the fender lip? you may be able to salvage the setup but first explain the situation more clearly and perhaps your frustration will have a happy ending

Micheal,
Do you have an original type 1 (e) or one of the cut down sedan versions of the irs.? is the setback wrong for the front as well? do you have the torsion bar front ,or the coil over setup? |
Can someone tell me if these will fit a Unique?

one last thing, if you were happy with the spacing with the compomotives, why not just shave the 7/8 off in the tire width, that would bring you closer to 265s or 275s do the math, but I would consider that if you're saying that 4 3/8 would have been the perfect back spacing, you're splitting hairs over the tires size me thinks, although you didn't mention what the differential needs to be on the front. I have 275s by 60s on my SPF, and they look perfect consider moving to a smaller width tire.

micheal,
Should I assume that Trigo does not make a 41/2 backset wheel? |
Mike,
You have the wrong Jag rear. I had to narrow my control arms and have new half shafts made when I went to Trigos on my Contemporary. You already got the tires and wheels, what's a few more bucks? CWI can supply the control arms on an exchange basis and the local driveshaft shop can make new halfshafts. The Trigos do look much better than the bolt ons. Cranky:) |
