Used Tremec for sale!
Posting this for a good friend. He had to replace the Tremec in his Superformance with an automatic due to health reasons. Not sure but think he is looking for something in the $850 range as he was told new they are in the $1100. range. If interested e-mail me @GEM427@aol.com and I'll put you in touch with him.

I had asked if Superformance used TKOs.
Oops, forgot Superformance was a roller!

Buyer beware!! I purchased everything this seller, Billy Gi$&more, from Texas, had for $1350.00 with $245.00 shipping. I was told it was in good shape since he had just had it removed from his Cobra. What I got was a clutch plate about 75% gone and scored so badly I can't use it, a 3 finger clutch that had been dis-assembled and parts missing,(he says that happened in the crate), what if it had happened at 6000 RPM, and a broken shift knob, (he says that happened in the shipping too). The scattershield is bent from being "high-centered" he later told me.
I had talked to him many times before I received my equipment and felt he was an honest man. He told me he hadn't abused the equipment and I believed him. I called him immediately to let him know the condition of what I got and offered to send him pictures as proof . He told me to contact Central Freight, since it was their and my problem. My freinds have warned me about buying from unknown parties but I felt, being a Club Cobra member and buying from another one it would be safe. LOL

Just got back from the machine shop. Had to have the flywheel re-surfaced and they couldn't do anything with the clutch and pressure plate, they said they're "throwaways". I'm still waiting to hear from Central Freight Co.

The guy who sold this trans setup is a loser. Real scum of the earth. What sort of health problems does he have, he lost his charactor? real ****ing winner.

Just talked to Billy's son and he assured me there will be something done about the broken parts, that Billy is a great and honest person as I first thought. I certainly hope that this is true and there will be some adjustments made to the original price. I offered to forward pictures of the damage again.
I am not complaining about having the flywheel re-surfaced, even the though the machinist told me it was badly warped, because he said it should be okay now.

This is part of the JUNK I received from Billy Gilmore. Check out each of the the damaged parts he sold me. He keeps on telling me it's not his problem. When I asked him about his "drag racing" that he's doing, he said he NEVER raced this equipment . He says I should contact the shipper for damage claims. Remember I had the flywheeel trued!
What do you think?
Would you be happy with this crap?
Do I still think he's an honest man and has some type of scruples . HELL NO !!!

There is not a shipping company that could do that!
Not even UPS.

Wondered why this thread was still active since I have not looked at it since I put Neil in contact with Billy. I guess this is the last time I post anything for anybody. I feel very bad about this and can only hope Billy will make it right. I've known him for several years but don't see him except maybe once or twice a year at an event we put on. He has always come across as honest and sincere person. He does have some health problems but is always willing to do whatever he can to help out. Neil I am very sorry for all of this and hope something gets worked out. I will be very disappointed in Billy if he does not step up and do the right thing.
Just not my day

To Casaleenie...No Billy Gilmore is not aka Gary Morris. I just posted the info for him when I received a call from him one night asking if I knew anyone looking for a Tremec and I told him No as I don't know anything about them as I run a toploader. And believe me ANY of the local Texas bunch would have done the same if he had asked him to.

Makes me feel like crap just reading all of this. I do hope the transmission is Ok as actually that's all I was asked to post. Neil inquired if he had any of the linkages etc..etc... and I said I don't know and passed along Billy's phone number. I really hope this turns out OK for both parties.

Gary,
No one that knows you would ever have any doubts about what a decent and honest person you are.
No one else should either.
Sounds like " no good deed goes unpunished ".

Gary,
I do not blame you for any of this.
I would do the same for a friend, but I do believe NONE of my friends would try to pass off equipment in this shape. I had talked to Billy several times and he said it had 20000 miles on it, but NEVER ABUSED! "He's 57 years old and takes care of his equipment". Like an idiot I believed him. This is the first time I have ever been burned on the internet and I'm sorry that it was by a "Cobra Brother". I only wish that people would abide by "the Golden Rule". I don't have a lot of money and I tried to talk to Billy about some compensation ($200.00) so I could get a clutch to use. He said he would go to the transmission shop and the shipper. As far as I'm concerned neither of them is at fault. By the way, did he drag race at your events?
Special K and John at Shelby said that "they would have the trans gone through before installing, since the rest of the equipment was Junk"! More money Pi$$ed away!

Thanks Neil....and no he did not drag race at our events as we have only had a road course for the last 4 or 5 years and Billy was always doing the tech. I saw his car at the drags probably 5 plus years ago.....but that was before I had met him personally. If he had been racing it would have to have been a long time back as his legs have been in bad shape for quite some time. I'm still hoping for the best and I think you are being fair and resonable in your request to him.
