Hey Dave....I need a TKO...not a II. I've seen them for $1350 in Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords. Can you beat that price?

I don't have the standard TKO in stock right now. It is not a very popular unit because of the .68 overdrive.

I'm kind of new at this. What is the difference between a Tremec 3550, TKO's and TKO II's.

Thanks.

What about the length of the mounting points compare to a toploader box ? Will it fit to a original 289 or 427 frame, without cutting the frame ?

Cowtown-
David can give you better details than I can, but generally, the TKO II is stronger than TKO and the TKO is stronger than the 3550. The TKO II is considered the road race version of the TKO. The TKO II is rated for 475 ft/lbs of torque compared to 425 for std. TKO (I think those are the right numbers), has a stronger third gear than the std. TKO and fift gear ratio is .83 compared to.68 in the std. TKO.

I am certain that others can provide you more detailed info.

The best description of each unit can be found here:

We only have 3 left at this price.
