Mini Cobra- AWESOME!
I recently purchased one of these mini Cobras.
It is just as nice as advertised!
It is 80" L x 35" W x 14" H
Now I have to decide: "BIG block or small block? Hmmmm?

I just received the body.
I'm thinking about a tube frame like a go cart and power it with an electric motor from one of those handicap scooters as this will be for my young grandchildren.
Once they reach of age, I'll give them the keys to the real one!

ohekk, I was looking at some of the old electric golf carts and some of the gas powered ones. Most of them have a really cool frame that looks like it would work great for the Cobra body. You'll have to check them out, there must be some golf cart graveyards in your area. I was just in Waukasha yesterday to pick up a fork lift @ M&W.

PS. Yeah...My father in law built a small racer for kids using an electric golf cart motor. It's a pretty slick set up though speed is a little fast for the little ones...I 'spose...why not expose them to the thrills of driving a Cobra early...Right!

It looks like the body may be aluminium in your link.
Are they really made from aluminium?
Or was that a display only model?

Nope!...it's fiberglass!
...and very nice...straight...smooth and will require very little bdy work before painting!
My wife was really upset when I told her I bought another Cobra
...then she smiled!

I have been looking for a project to work with my son on so I got very interested when you posted this. I am still waiting on a reply from Mustang Ranch but maybe you can answer some questions for me.
The car looks very good but in the pictures (painted from the front) the car looks to have quite a twist to it. The passenger front and driver rear are much higher. Is this just the way it is setting or yours come that way to. Also it looks like the hood scoop is crooked. could just be a paint illusion. How does it look on your car. On the inside of the body are there any mounting points already added to the fiberglass or are we on our own.
If this is as good as you say I may be joining you in your quest for mini parts.

It's just a fiberglass shell...no mounting tabs... and VERY flexible.
I'm sure the twist you see is from the way it was sitting when photographed.
The hood scoop seems symetrical.
I'm in the middle of several other projects and will be some time before I get started.
However I am on a quest to find parts that will make this thing appear reasonably correct.
Let us know how the build goes and where you find parts.

Hi John, I may have already emailed you, but just in case I figured I chime in here.
When I took the photo of the painted body, I had it setting on a couple of boxes which were not equal in sizes, thus the reason it looks odd. We take extra effort to make sure these come out as nice as possible, to help save you time on prep work prior to painting it. We make a lot of Shelby parts, and the one thing we are trying to do different than all the other companies out there, is to take most of the prep work out of the part or body, so you can enjoy the finer stages of building something that you enjoy.
The paint is giving off an illusion, or maybe it's the way I was facing with the camera, but I think the scoop came out real nice on these mini's. At this point & time, we are not building these with mounting points, for one there is so many different options a person can go, it would be madness trying to special make each one to their specifications. If we get to the point of making a custom chassis for these, or if someone else does that will work along side with us, then me might modify them to meet those specs.
I am also willing to work with Local & National Clubs on group purchases that would help save members some money, and kick something back toward the club.
Anyway I hope this helps answer some of your concerns, and let me know if there is anything else I can answer for you.

Just an FYI:
Doug reinforced the Cobra body, wrapped it in bubble wrap, packed it in a huge box and shipped it via Greyhound.
It arrived in tact with no damage ...not even a scratch!
THANKS DOUG!!!
Though I can't start on this project just yet and grandkids are a few years from driving age, I'm anxious as hell to start building!
The search for scaled down parts should be fun as well!
let's see now...where could we find a windshield and headlights
and wheels & tires?
Do you think one of the wheel manufacturers would manufacture a production run of wheels if we did a group purcahse?
