I'm curious of the authenticity of these. Which cars had them? AC or Shelby or both?

I would recommend a set of Lucas PL700's.
They seem to always be available on ebay. Not cheap, but authentic for any Shelby or AC Cobra. And, because they are not sealed beams, you can use separate halogen bulbs and they will last the life of the car.

I agree with bud man, lucas is the only way to go. They look the most original, but are not cheap. You can also select the type of bulb you would like to use since they are not sealed beam.
If authenticity is what you are looking for, go with the lucas.

2nd time: I'm curious of the authenticity of these. Which cars had them? AC or Shelby or both?
I'm assuming these were on street cars since they are so "beautiful"!

HI, GUYS,
SOMEBODY HAS READ MY MIND. (GEE, I WISH I COULD READ IT).
WHERE IN THE U.S. CAN I FIND ORIGINAL LUCAS PL700 LIGHTS?
I COULDN'T GET A HIT ON E-BAY.
I AGREE - - THE LUCAS LIGHTS LOOK A LOT BETTER THAN THOSE DARN "REPLICAS".
Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY,
BLACKJACK

Do a google.com search "LUCAS PL700 LIGHTS" and you will find the lights for sale, for example, in England for 90 pounds = $157 US plus shipping.

I KNOW (AT LEAST PRETTY SURE) THAT LUCAS HEADLIGHTS ARE MADE FOR BOTH LEFT SIDE AND RIGHT SIDE DRIVING CARS. HOW CAN YOU TELL WHICH IS WHICH??
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN LIGHT PATTERNS??
THANKS - AND - Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY.

Blackjack, there is a difference, but I don't know how to tell by looking; it would likely be apparent in the lens refractors, if you knew what to look for.
The RHD casts the light to the left on low beam, the LHD does the opposite (to the side of the road away from oncoming traffic).

I talked to Peter at ERA about a month ago. At that time he had one personal set he would part with for $400. He stated they were no longer available?
Good luck, Steve

the headlights were made for both left hand and right hand driving. they will tell whichever at almost the one o'clock position on the lens itself. there are reproductions availabe but the originals are long gone. i have both a set of right and left hand drive lamp assemblies. the reproductions will have a silver back side and the originals have a sort of copper look to them. the lens will usually have a "PL" shield in the center of the tripod on the right hand drive and on the left it will have a round shape in the center with the word "LUCAS". i have seen replicas that have a "P700" logo in the round shape also. hope this helps.........john

THANKS FOR ALL THE INFO, GUYS.
THE SELLER ON E-BAY CONFIRMED THAT THE HEADLAMPS WERE FOR A LEFT HAND DRIVE CAR.
ON HIS AFFIRMATION I UPPED MY BID AND GOT THEM FOR $261.66.
I THINK THAT'S A VERY REASONABLE PRICE SINCE THEY INCLUDE THE HALOGEN BULBS.
TALK ABOUT "LURKERS" - - SOMEBODY WHO HAD NOT BEEN IN THE BIDDING FRAY AT ALL JUMPED IN WITH SEVEN SECONDS TO GO AND DAMN NEAR GOT THEM. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME ON E-BAY AND IT WAS A LOT OF FUN. I'M GLAD I LEARNED TO BE A SANDBAGGING S.O.B. A LONG TIME AGO.
Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY,
BLACKJACK
