Brand New T-5 Transmissions $700
I am selling brand new T-5 Tranmissions for $700. These are 3.35 super alloy gearset T-5's. They are the transmission of choice in the Cobra replicas. If you need a transmission to handle High Output engines coupled with high tractions tires I also build custom T-5's that handle up to 600hp. Call 512-699-8505 or email jbordelon@austin.rr.com

Sounds too good to be true!
Steel retainer? What o/d ratio? What about the 2.95 1st? Anything wrong with that?
I'm in the market... praneis@hotmail.com

Well I'm pleased to sound too good to be true! I also offer the 2.95 "Z" spec T-5 with .59 5th gear O/D for $1000. The T-5's I am selling for $700 are the 3.35 Super Alloy gearset transmissions with .68:1 5th. I am located in Round Rock Texas and have 18 years of experience with Mustang transmissions exclusively.

What ever happened to this guy?
I emailed him over a week ago without any reply! Is this guy for real? Has anyone dealt with him before?
Thanks, Brian

I got an email reply right away and ended up calling him to discuss. He seems legit and knowledgable to me [novice].
The $700 trannies are overstock production mustang units. He even goes so far as to take the electronic tach tailhousing off and substitute it with a mechanical drive one. You just tell him your diff ratio and he puts the right color gear in for you.
He sells the Z spec T5 for around a grand - don't quote me though. It seemed right in the ballpark for what I've seen it going for other places.
I'm seriously considering this once I get to that point...
He did say that he advertises in 5.0 Mustang Magazine under AB&T transmission....

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but the 3.35 first gear T-5 is not the trans for a Cobra.
As a replacement for a worn out Mustang trans running a standard 2.73 differential (or if you happen to be using a stock Mustang 8.8 diff in your Cobra), this would be an economical choice.
But most Cobras use 3.55's, or 3.73's out back, and the T5Z with the 2.95 first gear, along with an aftermarket shifter is the trans you want to use. At $1k ea., these sound like good prices as well.
Have the .62 5th gear OD swapped out for the .73 or .80 for a more useable cruising gear.
