Default Mickey Thompson's Ramp Truck!

FOR SALE -- Mickey Thompson's 1969 Ford One Ton Dually Ramp Truck Off-roader Carrier. This was Mickey Thompson's personal vehicle, used to haul his off-road vehicles around the circuit. This truck currently has a 455 Oldsmobile engine!?!, with a TurboHydro 400 transmission. The clutch pedal is still in the truck, from when it was equipped with a four-speed trans.

The bed is just over 14 feet long, (long enough to carry a Cobra!), but was used to haul his Chenowth Class off-roaders. There are three lockable compartments along each side of the ramp bed. There is an electric winch at the front of the bed, and a fold-down electric engine hoist/boom at the rear of the bed.

I have an ORIGINAL bill of sale, signed by Mickey Thompson, as well as an ORIGINAL Certificate of Non-Operation, also signed by Mickey Thompson. Also an old, faded, California registration certificate showing ownership by "Thompson, Mickey", with his address in Bradbury, California.

This truck has six brand new 16.5 tires. It is currently registered in California, and I have a new Certificate of Title, also called a "Pink Slip" in California.

The front disc brakes appear to be recently overhauled; I do not know the condition of the rear brakes. I drive this truck once a week, around my neighborhood, just to keep everything circulating. There is a heavy-duty Oil cooler in front of the radiator, and four LOUD horns along the radiator core support.

The bodywork is decent, but not great. The roof has been dented and body-fillered, but it is starting to flake off. On both doors, there is the phrase "Phantom Racing", with a cartoon character with a sheet over his body, like a ghost. On the left side of the bed is painted "Long John's Tavern, Long Beach, Calif", and along both rearmost compartment doors is the phrase, "Blew by You!"

This truck definitely needs work, but with the SIGNED documentation, is a piece of Off-Road-Racing history.

I will pay a referral fee of 10 % of the sale price over $6000, to the person who refers the buyer to me; or, if you prefer, 10% off the price that I sell the vehicle for, if you are the buyer. The MORE I sell the truck for, the BIGGER referral fee you get!

Edley, you might want to contact someone at the Petersen Automotive Museum on Wilshire in downtown L.A. I'm sure they are well connected with many of the notable local car collectors and could possibly hook you up with the appropriate buyer. Just a thought.....good luck!

Thanks, Dean! Also should get ahold of the people at the NHRA Museum at Pomona Fairgrounds. They even have one of MT's first monocoque Mustang "Funny Cars!"
