I received my copy in the first mailing and if at all possible get one of these books. It is done in "scrapbook" format and has a ton of photographs.

Steve, did you get a chance to mention to memorial dedication to Peter?

I did mention it to Peter and gave him the info. He regrets that he will not be able to attend as of today but, if plans change, he will let me know. Do you know for sure about our friend with the 2260 car if he is coming?

Steve, I communicated with the owners contact as late as last week and we discussed the logistics on getting the car to Augusta. We certainly hope it will be able to make the trip to take part in the memorial dedication.

The memorial placement will happen with or without CSX2260 and we are working on a "Cobra Cruise In" for a display of Cobras at the dedication. I am also going to try and work out a photo opportunity for the Cobras on a section of the former circuit.

We will get Peter photos of everything that takes place on September 11th. This is where his dad won in CSX2260 and I believe it was the only victory for CSX2260.

I have seen the stone that will be used for the memorial and it is impressive. You (and Peter) can go the the "Augusta Cobra Club" thread here at the forum for general information and a layout of the former track and the park being developed at the track.

If you have any Event Posters, you could send them to be signed by Peter for a small fee per signature and either sell or distribute them at the event.

Steve, no event posters are planned. We do plan to mention Peter, his dad and the new book. Perhaps that will help a bit.

Any idea if the book will be expanded into another printing? I had a conversation with Ted Tidwell last weekend who raced with Ken here in Augusta and he indicated that Ken was "quite an individual" and that CSX2260 was very fast at this track. He also talked about Dave MacDonald in CSX2259 who raced at Augusta and died 10 weeks later at Indy in Mickey Thompson's Allstate Special.
