Default 428CJ heads

I have 2 sets of 428CJ bare castings that have been cleaned, crack checked and tapped. These are some of the nicest castings I have evr had, seat real high. The heads are bare and will need all work and parts installed. They are 600.00 a set with full refund if not happy. We also have one set of 428CJ heads complete with all new hardware with over size valves. These heads can be purchased for 1100.00 complete. Thanks, Keith Craft

Default 428CJ heads

Keith - How do the complete heads compare performance wise VS either the Edelbrock or Shelby Aluminum heads? Have they been "worked" or just completed?

Now I could be wrong, but it seems I have heard you can get more HP out of the iron heads...but they do weigh a bit more. What do you say Keith?

Are there oiling issues with iron vs the new aluminum heads?

Mike

If everything is equal, such as flow and chamber volume you will get more power out of the iron head because of the heat retention. You can not port the cast iron heads as much as you can the aluminum heads and they will not flow as much. The cast iron heads I have were not done by me but look to be nice heads with all new parts. There is no major port work done just a little bowl work. These 428CJ heads should be goos for about 500HP on a 10 to 1 engine with decent camshaft. These heads will flow real close to the Edelbrock heads out of the box. Thanks and good luck, Keith
