Default Original Shelby American parts manuals

I am a parts employee at what was at one time the only Shelby American dealer in our area and a couple years ago someone decided to clear the shelves in the back room.

Two of the items that were thrown in the dumpster were the original Shelby American parts books from the early Cobra years.

One of the books even has the original mimeograph copies of the hand drawn Cobra body panel breakdowns and the official letter from Ford motor company directing the dealer to destroy the hand drawn illustrations that came with the new professionally done body panel illustrations.

One is in the original Shelby three ring hard binder and one is in a soft blue binder with a Shelby logo on it.

Besides the parts listings there are also several original Shelby American accesory catalogs that were inside the books.

I have no idea what they are worth and I think I may hold on to one for a while but if I get any decent offers I may part with both.

I have not offered these anywhere else although I am considering putting them on E-bay.

I will try to post some pics later tonight so you get an idea of what is there.

Theses are not in perfect condition because they were used for looking up parts and they do show aging and wear from use.

If anyone is interested please respond here or PM me with your questions.

I litterally jumped into the dumpster and dug for half an hour to rescue these things and they have been on the shelf at my house for the last couple years.

I don't know what their worth, but I'd sure like to have them. Great job in rescueing them. I would be interested in info on the Cobra tachometer 9,000 RPM model that Faria made. Is it in the accessory book?
Thanks
Mark

Put them on EBAY with a reserve of $1,000,000. See what they're bid up to.

Isn't that reserve a little low?

I will get some more info out of them when I get home.

I think probably the neatest thing about these is the original body panel illustration, I wish I knew who drew them.

I wonder how many of those survived, as I said, the new illustrations came with instructions to destroy the old ones, luckily someone here ignored the instructions.
