How much headroom do you have under the lift with your Cobra on it and it is up to maximum height given your 10' ceiling?
Thanks,
Joe

My personal feeling is a 4 post is more user friendly. it does take up more room.. but it sure is nice to be able to pull your car up on it to check something with out having to get on your knees to adjust lift bars etc like you do on a 2 post.. of course the 2 post makes it easier to work on brakes etc. and it gives you more clear room under car as there are no ramps.. I guess it will be a personal preference thing..

One thing I forgot to mention is that if you go with a 2 post.. make sure your concrete is strong enough to hold bolts & weight of lift.. if you go with a 4 post this is not as critical as weight is distributed over 4 plates instead of 2.. mine is not bolted down as I bought the optional casters to move lift if I need to.. 2 post must be bolted down..

I have an Autolifters "M6 Plus" 4-post lift. I purchased it about four years ago. It's one of the best purchases I have ever made. I now have a three car garage (in the place of two). Brian

please send me an e-mail if you are interested: coleman@ti.com
i'm sending out final information this weekend
AutoLifters was in the initial pool but was unwilling to offer any substantial discount to warrant taking them to the next level.
We've struck a great deal on another American made lift.

Does that American lift Company that you speak of use American Steel and American hardware and is it tested and certified by an independent Laboratory? I dont understand why your not "Allowed" to give out the details. Whats the big secret? Michael

Big secret is that I don't want to get the company upset at me/us because we are getting better pricing than their other major customer... or so they say.
I'll have to ask them about American steel and American hardware, but we did visit the shop where these lifts are at the very least assembled...
Bottom line, it's up to you if you want to participate in this group buy. I can't please everyone, but I do want to please at least enough people to get a great value for the rest of us.

The problem is that your not comparing apples to apples or oranges to oranges. If other companies are selling inferrior equiptment you cant expect an American company to compete on that basis. Using foreign steel or parts that are bushing instead of roller bearing or steel ( Especially the cables) that wont stand up to a certification is not a fair comparison. Its not the same lift. Would you compare your cobra to a VW? They both drive straight, they both transport people but do they compare? This is the cruxt of the problem for the whole country. If we continue to say "well this is cheaper so I being a thrifty person must buy it " is only selling this country down the tubes. Right now 80% of everything that Wal Mart sells is made in China. Spending an extra couple of hundred dollars on a lift that is safer and will last a LOT longer shouldnt be a hard decision. Ive seen new lifts that had less than 1/2" of its 1 1/2" lock resting on the frame. Should there be an earthquake or other reason for the lift to sway this lock will pop out of its perch. Dont get me wrong. Your doing a good thing that could benefit all those in Club Cobra and I appreciate it . If this works out with a bunch of lifts why not crate motors or wheels or Kits themselves. We just have to make sure that we're comparing the same equiptment bolt for bolt. Good Luck, Michael
