Car lift group purchase - 2 or 4 post
A group from the local Dallas area SVO club have put together a group purchase for car lifts.
They asked me to see if anyone at Clubcobra might want to benefit from their deal.
Here is the site for the lifts:
http://www.americanautomotiveequipment.com
The deal they have worked out for the 4 post (SS7000) is this:
Regular price for lift: $2,095
Options - Ramps 170
Caster Kit 245
Poly Drips 65
Sliding Jack Trays (2) 150
List price $2,725
Their price is $1,875 for this if they get 5 or more, which I believe they already have.
If interested, contact Coleman Ammerman at his email:

Gents,
I have not seen them, so I cannot answer questions about ceiling height etc. Seems like if you measure the combined heights of your two cars, and that is at least one or two feet less than ceiling height, it should work. Check with the mfgr. to be sure.

I'm here ... thank you for mentioning this jdean!
We've been talking with Eagle Lift, Autolifters, American Automotive Equipment, and AllStarLift (formerly Team Lift).
After visiting Eagle Lift the other week, we left with a rather poor impression of the chinese made welds. Now, they sell both american made and chinese made lifts. The American made lifts were far superior in quality. They were willing to deal on the american made lifts, but not their chinese made lifts. Quality is important, but everything relative...
Ok, fast forward to last week, and we were all set to go with the American Auto Equip brand because we were led to believe they were of similar quality to Eagle's American made, but we just found out that these two are chinese made ... and most likely exactly the same lifts as eagle's chinese made
Team Lift, now All Star Lift, is much better quality and also happens to be made here in America. In fact, three of these companies are all in Cleburne, TX .... hmmmm
From what I understand, Team Lift broke in to two parts:
All Star Lifts american made lifts and AmerAutoEquip chinese made lifts.
Now, our plan is to head over the Cleburne and visit both facilities and inspect the quality for ourselves.
Please e-mail me, coleman@ti.com , if you are interested in this group buy ... more buying power!

We're trying to compare them right now, see previous post.
Our primary concern at this point is the strength of the welds.

9' = 108" ... 6" ramp height = 102" /2 (assuming same car height) = 51"
but where's the nearest stop for the lift?
if it's every 4-6 inches, you may have to figure that in.
now, do you have an overhead garage door opener?
all these factors need to be considered

I am interested in the 4 post lift and really appreciate the homework you are doing. Safety is a primary concern therfore quality is paramount.
Did I understand the price of the lift and the optional equipment was $1895?

Please send me an e-mail so we don't leave you out.
Jeff, we'll have the final pricing this week when we visit the two facilities.
Craig, I'll forward what I can when we determine the clear winner.

Coleman, thanks for the leg work. I know we have swapped e-mails so I am assuming I am on the list, but you might post a list of people who are committed to make sure you count is correct.
Thanks again,

Jim - Definitely. This was in the "later this year or early next", but if this turns a good price then I'm in.

I've been looking at lifts for months now and have decided on the Autolifters Auto Pro. One thing Ive learned is that you cant trust lifts that are foreign made. There are so many problems with those foreign lifts that its not even close. These boys in Kansas have it all over the chinese. They are better built than the competition and those guys who are building them are REAL AMERICANS. The wages they make is returned to our ecconomy. Cmon guys. This is a no brainer. Most of the time we are faced with an ecconomic decision, Which is cheaper. Here we have an American company. with real American workers trying to build the best product they can and still compete with companies that have no govt. controls. Give these guys a look before you buy. Normaly youd have to say that paying more puts Americans to work. Here you can honestly say that buying Auto lifters your doing that AND buying the best, safest lift for the money. These other companies couldnt pay me to buy theirs. Check it out. Buy American. Nothing else comes close. We are the best!

Anybody check out Bend-Pack products?
Made in Calif., shipping is free, and they usually have a special in the Northern Tools catalog.

There are only a few Mfgs and their chinese products are sold by many co's. Some buy the steel from China already welded and they assemble them here and call them American. Ask the question is the steel used in the lift from China? Are the lifts your looking at Tested and Certified by MAMTC Engineers ar the National Institute for Aviation Research here in the U.S.? Have they delivered 20,000 lifts? Call Richard at AutoLifters in Kansas @ 1-800-759-0703 to get the real scoop on Lifts.

oh, here we go... lol
Ok, I've already talked with Autolifters. There were only willing to discount 200 each for 5 lifts.
Regarding chinese made, yes, I'd love to buy the American made version, but not if the price difference is unwarranted.
Now after looking at some of these cheaper Chinese lifts and comparing them to their American made equivlent. The differnce in the quality in the welds was most concerning.
The American welds were far superior to the Chinese welds.
I do have high hopes for All Star Lifts in Cleburne, TX. They were formerly Team-Lift and are American made. We're heading over there this Thursday afternoon to inspect both their lifts and American Automotive Equipment (which I think are Chinese made).
BTW, we already have 13 people in this group buy.

I, too, looked a lot of them over and ordered a Bend-Pak last Friday. $2500 with a jack tray and oil pan and that includes shipping. Safety was paramount and this lift is the best I've seen and American to boot. But - good luck with what ever you decide. Ranger makes good bass boats so I'm assuming their Bend-Pak lifts are well made too...........

I bought and Auto Lifters lift and have had no problems. I would buy another tomarrow. The people answer the phone when you have questions and the product is what it says in the ad's.
If you have question PM me.
