For everyone else still in this group buy, I'll get the contact information on Monday of who you can contact to corroborate my Autolifter group buy pricing...

I gave everyone AutoLifters phone number so no one would be surprised with shipping costs.

Now, michael4yah, stay away from this thread. You're causing more pain and grief and I'm fed up with your childish antics:

oh, don't buy chinese!
oh, don't buy allstarlift!
oh, contact me instead of coleman!
oh, why all the secrets?

And if you messed up the AutoLifters group buy, well, you just cost "America" quite a few sales...

Coleman what part of China are the lifts made in... North-South-East-West or in the middle... I want one from in the middle because I have heard that it gets our best scrap metal from all American cars while all the others get our scrap Yugo metal.. so that would mean I will get a lift stamped with ( Once made in America)

Micheal4Yah was just trying to warn the rest of you guys that Coleman may not be on the level. I have no vested interest in this group buy anymore, as I ordered my lift from Autolifters 2 days ago after talking to Richard, the sales manager at Autolifters.
I just read the posts on the Cobra website, and want to make it clear that Richard of Autolifters asked Michael4Yah to post that information to the Cobra website to clear up any misunderstanding that Coleman may have created. If you guys have any brains you'll call for yourselves and decide who to believe, Richard who represents the company - or Coleman. I think Coleman may be getting peoples hopes up just to pull the rug out from under them hoping they'll switch over to the AllStarLift. If Coleman's on the level he should list the names of the buyers on this board so people can verify that they're on the list in the public forum like I've seen them do with other group buys. For all we know, there may be 20 buyers for the Autolifters lift already, but Coleman wants to make sure he has enough for the AllStarLift. He has been saying that he's been waiting for responses from 31 people for over a week. For a discount like he stated it shouldn't take someone that long to make a decision. He may be trying to manipulate the numbers so that when there aren't enough to buy the Autolifters lifts, he'll get some to switch over to the AllStarLift, and then the people who were die hard Autolifter people will be on their own, and possibly stuck with the recent price increase of $2695 for the M80XT. Let Coleman explain how he secretly got hooked up with some stakeholder at Autolifters, when the only one I can ever get connected to is Richard. I guess I don't have the top secret code.
The deal I got was as follows:
Richard said whether it's 20 people or just myself just mention the Cobra Club Group Buy and he would sell me the lift for $2595 (by the way, they just recently raised the price to $2695 for the M80XT on their website, but he honored the $2595 price), and then discount the accessories, like selling the caster set for $100, an 8" jack tray for $75, a 12" jack tray for $85, and so on. I asked him how many people he needed to get those discounts, and he said he'd give them to me today if I was ready to order. I went ahead and ordered an M80XT with the Caster set and a 12" jack tray for a total of $2780 (plus I had to pay sales tax as I live in Kansas and am going to pick up at their facility).
He said whether a couple or 20 people order his lifts, the discounts would be the same and there would not be any advantage to waiting to order unless you're trying to pool shipping resources.
After reading the posts on this board, I called Autolifters back and told Richard what Coleman was saying about having some secret contact at Autolifters and Richard just laughed and said "there's no secret contact here." Richard clarified that he is the only one at Autolifters who can offer or authorize any discount on their lifts, so he would know of any such agreement. I could care less about this group buy anymore, as I've already laid down my money, but hopefully now that Coleman's story has been exposed people may not be so surprised when the Autolifter deal falls through and he tries to get them to switch over to the AllStarLift to meet their minimum number of 10. If you want the Autolifter lift I strongly urge you to call them yourself and decide who's telling the truth. If you're lucky Richard will still honor the old prices and give you the discount he gave me.
Good luck,
Kenneth Fredrickson

Kenneth, just curious here, but why did Michael4yah post you were a member here(on 3-31-05), and this is your first post?
Something here doesn't smell right, and since Michael4yah has been griping from the start of this thread, and he put your name in the mix, and you show up with your first post two days later, it's gotten me wondering.
I am not accusing you of anything, just asking why Michael4yah said you were a member, and you have just registered today?

Like I said before, if someone starts a group buy and anyone who is unhappy with the way it's going should post their unhappiness once then go on their way... the person doing all the work gets all the flack and bs for trying to save every one a buck.. when I bought my lift I posted where I thought every one could get a decent deal... I am to wise to start and handle a group buy... no offense Coleman..just after being around 55 years you learn that it is damn near impossible to please every one..

Reply to southernfriedcj,
Michael4Yah was mistaken, I just joined this morning, I just wanted to express my experience. I got Michael4Yah's E-mail off of here last week and have been E-amiling back and forth with him and Coleman trying to get a lift bought. I just thought it was strange that when I called Autolifters no one there seemed to know anything concerning the prices Coleman posted, and their sales manager, Richard, said outright that no matter how many we ordered he could not give us the prices Coleman was quoting. However, he did give me what I consider a very good deal by honoring the old $2595 price for the M80XT and selling me the caster set for $100 and a 12" jack try for $85. I ended up paying $130 more than Coleman's deal, and got a 12" jack tray insted of 2 eight inch jack trays.
In reply to the other poster about me being unhappy or disgruntled, I'm neither. I'm relieved to have my decision over and have my lift on order. If this group buy does pan out I stand corrected, and offer my apologies to Coleman, but I didn't feel it was worth the stress or risk of not getting the old price to wait for this thing to come to fruition. I would urge Coleman to post a list of the buyers on this forum so everyone can verify they are being counted for on a public forum, that way they can verify how many buyers there actually are. I don't want to sound cold, but I've already expended enough time on this thread and do not plan on posting anymore responses.
Good luck, and I hope you all get the lifts you want at a great price.
Ken

Man, I don't know where to start...

1. Yes, Richard knows nothing of the group buy yet ... but that will be corrected early next week.
2. The autolifter group buy is for real. And so is the AllStarLift as well...
3. I dared not post the list of people in a public forum cuz I'd be very afraid that michael4yah would contact my few allstarlift enthusiasts and persuade them to buy autolifter lifts.
(most of you know what i'm talking about!)
Why oh why did michael4yah request that everyone contact him about the group buy earlier in this thread?
4. Thank you for buying an autolifter lift, FredHead! I'm sure they'll count it toward out 20
I regret that you had to pay a little more, but you're right ... you've got your lift.
5. I have a few boards that this group buy is posted on, so I don't know who all is from this board ... bar a few that I wish I had never had heard of.
6. It's much easier to blast e-mails to people and track them in a spreadsheet than to post updates on 6 different boards.

hey, but i'm learning about group buys... lol
i wish my autolifter contact had informed their sales manager of the at least, existance of this potential group buy.
yes, these are expensive items so maybe i should have anticipated the overly cautious nature of any given person... so i don't blame *some* of you. but i have not asked anyone to send me anything other than a verbal committment.

this group buy was only going to be one lift company ... but i decided to open it up to two because of some very loud individuals ... one of which already backed out and will more than likely not opt back in unless he's man enough to step forward and appologize when richard tells him that there is such a group buy here very soon.

i unfortunately only know a few people on this board. if i were as widely respected as this michael4yah obviously is ... well, i'll stop there... lol

Coleman, thanks again for putting up with the headaches. As soon as I get through to the Autolifters folks and get shipping quotes I will send you an email letting you know which lifts I'm down for.

FWIW, I'm a Homebuilder, and sometimes I, or one of my Partners give people a good deal on a new home, and advise our sales staff after the fact. Case in point, one of our bankers wants a home in a Subdivision he is financing. He will not pay retail, and none of Sales Agents know we are going to build him a house.

Now if I can sell 20 homes to you guys in a group buy, I'll take 10k off of each house! If anybody wants in, talk to Coleman!

I've got a great idea that will help all of us (especially me) coordinate this activity without any percieved slight of hand ... or, at least, i hope so.

i'll go set it up right now... brb

Ok, here's my great idea:

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/autolift/

This will certainly help me coordinate this group buy...
Join the group and add your information (that you are comfortable with) into the database section.

Under shipping, please enter 0 if it's pickup or the quote amount so everyone can see just how much shipping is ... I don't want any surprises and I've noticed that the shipping price does vary greatly.

Ok, I just spoke with Richard at AutoLifters and he was still unaware of the Group Buy at this point ... but I did relay to him the facts as I understand them and he will be checking through his channels to corroborate this group buy.

I'll give them a day or two to get their wagons in a row... lol

I know I said I wasn't going to post anymore to this board but something happened a little bit ago that changed my mind. First, I want to apologize to Coleman for being skeptical and doubting him on the Autolifters group buy. I got a call from Richard at Autolifters today, and he said that it appears Coleman did talk to someone else at Autolifters. He wasn't sure what was agreed to, but if the group buy terms are met and the discount is better than what he gave me he would give me the same discount and count me towards the group buy number. So you already have one sure buyer who has placed his order. The fact that Richard called me back and told me this, and that they will give me any additional discount that may apply to this group buy even though they wouldn't have to and I never asked them to, says a lot about the integrity of Autolifters.
My apologies to Coleman, and Thanks again for putting this together and all the headaches it involved.

Wow! That was very cool that Richard called you back like that

I know that I too would have been skeptical when we're talking this much money -- It would be unwise to not do so.
I should have followed up with Autolifters' sales dept. to let them know of this deal myself ... or at least mention it so they can go full circle.
Oh well, live and learn...

Now, we still have a ways to go before we make this a reality and unfortunately we've moved backward wrt the autolifters group buy because of unexpected shipping.

We're at 6 AllStarLifts, 8 Autolifters, and 2 either.
I still have a few, 3 to 4, more lifts commits coming down the pike just as soon as they get a little more information.

We still need some more though

Coleman,

I have tried to re-read this post for pricing but I am confused. Can you post the pricing for each manufacturer with or without options? I will then call them for a shipping quote.

Susie from AllStarLifts just e-mailed me.
She is saying that the prices of metal are going up, so we need to make this group buy happen before next Monday which still gives us a little time -- but not much!

We are at nine (of ten) AllStarLifts and I'm hoping AllStarLifts will
let us start ordering now.

She was also dismayed that someone contacted her on our behalf and stated that we were all going with AutoLifters ...
I'm sure I know who that troublemaker was!
