Boss 429 engine What's it worth
I just got a Boss 429 from a friend of mine. It's complete from Bell housing to water pump, but hasn't ran in 20 years. It was running perfect when put on motor stand. Has 2x4 barrel high rise intake on it. Has been keep in garage covered. It came out of a boat and still has the aluminum exhaust manifolds on it. It runs clockwise.
Thanks.
P.S. I'm also trying to find out if it will fit in a Superformance.

It is a wide engine, so it most likely won't fit into an older Superformance. The new ones have been modified to accept the Mod motor so you might get one in a newer one. I'd compare the dimensions of the Boss and the 4 cam Mod motor, it is pretty wide as well.

A Boss 429 in a cobra would look AWESOME!! So would a Chrysler Hemi, but since it's not a Ford engine, I personally wouldn't put one in a cobra. Besides, I don't know IF a Hemi (affectionately known as "The Elephant") would even fit in a cobra. Still, those massive heads (both on the 429 and 426) are a VERY IMPRESSIVE sight to see. IMO.

Hi Guys,
Here is a Cobra replica with a 429...not a Boss but still a great looking car.
http://www.specialtysales.com/invent...11f38c8f91230c
BTW from what I know about the Boss motors were they "O" ringed on the head gaskets instead of standard head gasket materials?
Good luck with the new project.

That's a good looking engine.
Once you strip all that marine stuff off and pop that intake, you should be able to slide it in anything ( with a welding torch ).
Looks like it would be right through the hood with the intake on.
So what do you want to do with this...again?

Just make sure the heads are not cracked, wet exhaust manifolds seem to crack Head more often!
