Wanted: 2 Fiberglass Hole Saws
Hi Everyone:
I would like to purchase 2 Fiberglass Hole Saws.
I am looking for 1-9/16" and a 1" Fiberglass hole saw.
If you do not have one, I would appreciate any leads on where to buy some good ones. I am drilling through a painted Shell Valley Cobra to install the rollbar and hood handles.
Thanks,
Killer

I appreciate everyone's responses so far but, I was under the impression that to safely cut fiberglass you needed finer teeth than a standard metal and wood hole saw?

I've been using the standards with no trouble....I do use masking tape on the glass...seems to keep it from flaking as bad.

Tape ....
Use slow speed drill .....
Be careful ....
Don't worry cuz the rubber grommet will cover 99% of the boo-boos.

I used the standard hole saws that I had or Home Depot sells. I allready have several different arbors.I also use a rotary file to open some holes and smooth and enlarge holes in fiberglass. Not too much speed = heat or they will fill up with resen. Some times you can use an old finish carpenters trick and not go all the way through and restart the hole saw from other side using the existijng pilot hole so not to tear out bryond the actual hole when going through.

Killer,
These guys are right, it's just a standard wood saw. I don't believe there is any such thing as a "fiberglass only" saw. What I do is (1) use tape, (2) use a smaller than you need holesaw, and then use my moto-tool with a course rotery sand paper drum and reem out to the size needed. That moto-tool will cut through fiberglass like no other tool can.
Good luck,
Tim

If you are fitting percesice holes go under sized and open while smoothing .For me hole saws have always cut a larger hole than the size measured distance accross the hole saw . The tape and sand paper are winning tricks.
If you want to make a simple tool that you can use in different jobs mostly inside objects. Get a piece of rigid strait drill rod. The length will depend on how far you need to reach into your work. Put two hacksaw blades in a hacksaw frame from the end saw a centered two inch slot .Now insert two inch sanding tape into the slot and twist in the direction that your drill motor would. The amount of sanding tape would determine the size of the roll, and and coarseness of sanding tape would varry. Use coarse for stuff like heavy rust and fine for smooth finnish. You can add lengths by inserting under a flap of tape allready wound tape. You can tear off tape as it is worn out or filled up. and twisting. I have many different lenght of drill rod for different reaches. With the longer lengths you can put side pressure with your hand on the shaft above the sanding tape . Mine are callased but a cloth glove would work also.
