Expansion tank trade?
I've spent a lot of time and elbow grease on getting this tank right. I had a local radiator shop repair and pressurer test it and it is good to go. It has a couple of very small dent's on the top right , some might call it "character", but they do not detract from the overall apperance of the tank.
After mounting it on my engine I've decided (along with my two sons) the vintage "look" of the polished brass just dosen't look right with my set up.
Would anyone be interested in trading for a nice clean steel or aluminum tank, or a well restored clean and shiny black one?

Mark,
Couldn't you just paint that one black and use it, then if you ever want a brass one in the future you have it?

I considered it, but I figured if someone wants a polished tank here is one that is already done. It really is a lot of work to get it to the stage shown.
I thought a trade would save me the cost of powder coating or plating and save someone else the time/cost of polishing one up.

I have a nice restored black one
I was wanting a polished brass tank. I'll trade for my black painted tank...mine was restored at a radiator shop as well.

yes, but they are at home. I can send you some e-pics tonight. My tank is in A-1 condition...no patches or boogers.

I also would be interested in a swap if the other falls through. Or I would purchase outright if you prefer. Let me know if it becomes available and I'll email some pictures of mine which is currently on my 427 sideoiler. It is black and nice. It was re-built (cleaned & resoldered & pressure tested 1 and 1/2 years ago and works great as is.

Just noticed you are in St. Louis. Since I am in Rolla I could run mine down to the City for your inspection prior to closing the deal if interested. I'm going to have mine removed anyway this next week to change to one of the "balanced" type thermostats. Want to make sure it stays open at higher engine speeds.
Let me know and we can work out the details so you can see it.
Thanks, Bob Ahland
