Cool What is it worth? 1963 Ford 427 C3AE H 6015

I bought a boat with a 427 Ford motor this year, considering replacing with modern 460 Ford Crate motor. I don't know munch about motor, the boat is a 1975. Compression was 140 to 190 so I had heads rebuilt this week at SPEED-O-MOTOVE in Covina, CA. Heads had some porting done previously, runs strong on the water. New Edelbrock RPM manifold, ,750 Holley Carb, MDS Distributor.

What's the bore? Condition is everyhting. Which crank? which rods were used? What heads are on the engine? Most boat engines were sort of a collection of parts. I could be $3500 it could be $10k. maybe more if it's a std/std with matching heads and good compression.

The block is usually the only part of value on the marine 427s. Many of the marine 427s didn't have the forged crank and the heads are more than likely a "J" casting (ie C5JE) which both the heads and crank are equivalent to CJ parts but without the casting numbers. The front timing cover is probably cast iron and weighs a bunch. Also, be careful on some of the large Chris Craft boats that had 2 427s because one of the motors was typically reverse rotation. I learned the hard way on one of these motors.
