If either of you could produce an FIA with tube frame and IRS you would be stand alone in the FIA crowd. Only SAI and KMS do this at this point. I did hear that Premier does but they are impossible to reach. At least via email....

Detail of the body must be high, one step further would be the Slabside front fenders and std FIA rear. Just like ealy race cars! Not even ERA does that due to suspension and widths of jigs.

Just FYI - Last time I was by their shop, Premier did not have an FIA body nor plans to do one.

And when you say "tube frame", I am assuming you mean round tube? Because technically both ERA and Unique's FIA's have tube frames (albeit square) and offer IRS. IMHO, the round tube frame doesn't add that much in terms of accuracy to the FIA once you pop the hood and see coil spring suspension.

Yes, tube being tubular and round. ERA and UM are using box frames not tube. I am not saying bad against ERA or UM here. ERA has a very exacting replica but it does not allow for Slabeside front due to frame restrictions regarding suspension which is also coilover type. UM and the Weavers are great however arguably not accurate. Possibly can be made accurate however without modification before paint no way.

A tube frame (ie round) and the new outboard type IRS from Hurricane would be an alternative to the accurate ERA FIA based from CSX2345. If dimensions could be as accurate as ERA the change with the slabside front would be a nice alternative. With as many cars on the market it does not take a genious to figure that accuracy and attention to detail will equate to success if done right. If the FIA flare front is their direction they will need to better ERA and UM while being price competitive. The key is accuracy with shape and interior detail while being slightly different. Bottom line ERA has the highest end FIA car due to build quality and accuracy of appointments in the glass class. SIA glass cars whether hybrid or tranverse leaf are at the next level due to frame, underpinnings, and CSX#. Of course aluminum cars are the next level in both accuracy and $.

However, we all have opinions and this is mine. If I built cars this would be my approach, hit ERA class while being cost competitive.

What are your thoughts on an accurate looking FIA using this frame? IRS of course. Granted not 100% exact for about $30,000 for a turnkey minus or $19,000 for a base roller kit.

I think if done right you have a possible sale here. I would love to have a 289sporting that type of frame and structure. It would be important to me to have a few details like street dash, pin drive, IRS, and a few other styling cues covered as an early car might be. Maybe even the early slabside with flat fender extensions? The added rigidity of the 4" tubular frame would be a benefit. You IRS looks far and away nicer than most. I am a bit of an FIA buff....

I think it would be important to match the original body width to pull it all off. 427 frame may not work. I will PM you......

Hi Jeff,
We would use a new suppliers body adapted to our EVO 5 frame or a new almost exact replica frame. We have already done the tech for the front and rear track and can use Trigo FIA knockoffs with slighly shorter control arms which we have in house. The dash will be the correct layout as well. The IRS and front suspension can also use our gun-drilled swaybars making it a great track car.
