OEM Cobra soft top for sale.
I have a new Robbins soft top for sale. Robbins is the Los Angeles top company that made the soft tops for Shelby America in the 1960's. This top is 100% new, never installed (it's only been out of the box once). It was a special order from Cobra Restorers a couple years ago and was $675. and took 10 weeks to get (tan is a special order). They are now $700 plus shipping. The front header header and rear bow is included.
$500 paypal cheerfully accepted

I am interested in top. Can you send color pics or post same? As these were some what "bespoke" were the snaps put on the manufacturer? Was the top made for a CSX or an Autokraft car? you may email me at jamesbottini877@msn.com. thanks Jim Bottini

Tony Stoer cobra mechanic for SAI tells me he made routine visits to Robbins from 1964-1965... I can't tell you none of the tops were made in the UK but most of the tops Shelby used and all the tops he sold over the counter were made in Los Angeles. Were the CSX cars (real Cobras) sent over with tops? These cars clearly have not been fitted with tops.

The top is new in the box. I took it out recently and unfolded it and it is as new. It's new, there really isn't anything I can show you in a photo.
It will fit all original pattern Cobra's, CSX, COX, Contemporary, ERA, Kirkham and all true replicas. I really don't know about FFR.
This top is new. that means there are no snaps installed yet, they are generally installed during final fit up. Check out robbins website for more information www.robbinsautotopco.com/
This is the top cobra restorers sells for $700. www.cobrarestorers.com

Hmmm... Your knowledge is nothing less than astounding, the problem is OEM means anything Shelby installed on a car and sold as new. Indeed it may be most tops were sent from England, that makes them an OEM part as well. I am sure there are dozens of examples in which headlamps, light bulbs, gauges, and various other parts, even paint were used at SAI and sold as "original".
Thanks for keeping the thread active and adding to an otherwise very dry area of the forum.
Thank you Pete, your top is on it's way.

It was my understanding the early 260/289 cars were supplied with tops from AC. It was only the 427 models that were US made? Sound right?
