289 wire wheels
I know that Trigo makes slabside style wire wheels http://trigowheels.com/original.html
Who makes the knock-offs that go with them? Also, what tires would work with these wheels, for a good "period" look? |

I'm running painted wires on my slabside. I like the look much better than chrome. There's a guy on eBay who lives in England that is selling exact replicas of AC knock-offs at a reasonable price. I don't think he has any auctions going at the moment, but if you look under "Completed Auctions" and then search under, say, "AC Cobra Knock*", you might find one of his old auctions. You can then send him an email for further info. Finally, the ONLY choice for tires on a slabside are Michelin XWX in 215/70VR15. They fill the wheel wells perfectly. I would recommend going with the Dayton wheel (used in Jaguars). I currently have them installed in my 289. Very reasonably priced and all parts as it pertains to the knock-offs are easily obtained. I believe you can get them at Moss Motors. Jim |
