Default LS1+6spd. for a 427 top-oiler

I got a '99 LS1 with 6spd. with very low miles in the car and want her replaced with an early '60, top-oiler, SOHC 427 in the same condition? Not a side oiler!
Please let me know?

Dutch,
No offense, but I think you are going to have to come up with a lot more than an LS1 to get someone to trade you for a "Cammer". But if you do find someone to make that trade please let me know who they are because I have a bridge I would like to sell them.

Have a good one,
Dan

p.s. I think all of the SOHC 427's were sideoilers , but I may be wrong.

Dutch,
I Agree with Dan. If you can find one, I remember being told about 854 were built by Holman and Moody, Be ready to fork out 30k-35k for it. If you want the Hilborn injectors, another 4k-5k. Put the 572 CID BB in your Vette!

Dutch,

He's right. The SOHC engines are built around a side-oiler block. Best of luck.

30-35K is what I've heard they run,,,,, IF you can even find one for sale. That is rare.

Default 427 SOHC engine

A side oiler goes for $12/15 K and the top-oiler is a bit less popular for about $10K or less. My mistake to refer to a Cammer motor. That is not what I want.
I just want the Top oiler 427!? About 490 horse.
And she is not going into a Vette. I happen to have the Vette motor in the coupe.
There is a nice gentleman in Arkansas who has a "new" '68 side-oiler for $12K and will take a bit less right now. The top-oiler should go for a bit less than that!
Now can someone help me?
