Question Flex Plate

Hi, I'm looking for a 1968 428CJ flexplate, I have searched all over the internet for one, any of you guys have one? Or is there a shop for them? I just need the stock one, I have a 390 Flexplate on there right now and it gets noisey when it warms up.

Are you refering to an automatic trans flywheel? If so, I have a used original, but you can also get them aftermarket for not too much money. Unless you rebalanced that 390 flexplate to match the 428 crank, you should be feeling alot of vibration when driving.

Where would I find one aftermarket? All the ones I have come across are not C6AZ-B. What other automatic flex plates could I use? And im not sure ware to get the 390 rebalanced.

Thanks,
Bob

A machine shop could rebalance your 390 flexplate by adding weight to it.
On www.FordFE.com, I've read on several occaisions that people have bought aftermarket SFI approved flexplates for a 428 from Pioneer, ATI, and Performance Automatic. There may be others.
