Is this real 1'751.00US$ for the UNSIGNED Version! I was expecting this price for a signed version, but now which price would cost a signed version????? And which value is on my bookcase, probably I’ve to bring them to my banc and close my collection on a safe deposit box!:JEKYLHYDE |
I have 2 of these books and one is still in the shrinkwrap. If the price of $1751.00 was paid by the buyer, then he call call me too!:D:D

As of 3/29/05, Amazon has one with a defective binding for sale for $450.00

The copy that sold on eBay has a slipcover. I've seen another that appears to be in the original shrink wrap and doesn't have a slip cover. Anyone know why? Did they come both ways? Is there any difference other than the slip cover?

Gave up the dream of building a Coupe, so I have a copy for sale. It's a signed copy, only read once and in excellent condition. I'm at work right now, so I can't tell you what the number out of 400 it is. Need to figure out what the book is worth. PM me.

Jim, I've sent you a PM!
Have a nice day!! |
OK, you guys who have copies! Did just the signed books get slipcovers, or what?
|
Yes signed copies were slip cased!!!!!
Adrian If anybody wants a mint and wrapped standard copy i have one i might part with? |
Just talked to Judy at Cobra Country and she said they sold the standard book with and without the slipcover. By the way my book is number 356 of 400. Still do not know how much to sell my book for or if I should.

Daytona Cobra Coupes was issued 3 ways....
1. Hardback - no slipcase 2. Hardback - slipcase 3. Hardback - slipcase (xxx/400) signed by 43 of the drivers and crew. All 3 versions are quite rare today. I have a shrink wrap Hardback - no slipcase (might be for sale) And; I have the 43 autographs version (373/400) I also have "The Cobra Story" 1st Edition (2nd Printing - 1965) And; "Remembering the Shelby Years 1962-1969" signed by Dave Friedman & Carroll Shelby (very rare) |
there was a fourth version, issued to each of 38 shelby employees and team members only.
|
Peter Brock signed one specially for my brother and I. Peter Brock is a great guy. I treasure the book. We have another one in the plastic still. I love that one too.

If they ever reprinted this book, even in paperback, they could sell out the whole run easily.
Anybody know George Stauffer? **) |
Unfortunately, I have heard the book will not be reprinted.

I purchased mine directly from Peter Brock at a book signing. It was held at a restoration shop in or near Wayne PA. There were a number of original Cobra owners there that day with their cars. And one Cobra owner who planned on attending the signing had a heart attack that morning and was in the hospital at the time. Brock signed his book for him. And then everyone there signed a poster as a get well card. Brock also did a slide show of pictures he took at the previous Le Mans. I think that invitations to this signing were sent to SAAC members in the Philadelphia area.
